wine users - Dec 2003 - WIN2K & WIN98 partition with wine

I have a laptop with two partitions: #1 running Win2K Pro and Win98
with
a FAT (?VFAT/FAT32?) partition and #2 with Linux ext3.

Can wine run Windows programs from this partition from my linux parition
with wine? I currently use my /etc/fstab file to mount this partition
for r/w at /mnt/win32.

How would I configure wine for this? Does it matter to wine if I am
running a Win98 program or a Win2K program since they are on the same
partition?

Grab a copy of winesetuptk from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=6241
It can set up wine for you to use the windows partition.

That worked although I am also installing on a WINXP/RH9 dual boot
machine. I'm a little anxious about running it this an NT partition. So
far only the notepad test worked (no new files created, just running
notepad). I couldn't get word, excel or outlook to open, nor any PC
games that I have on the WINXP partition.

Is it safe to use wine with a WINXP partition? I know what the
documentation says but is it REALLY safe?
