My system:
- Red Hat 7.2, on a dual PIII/800
- Wine release 20010731 (the RPM package from Red Hat)
Visio 2000 install kit was mounted through Samba from a Windows machine,
and i'm trying to run Setup.exe.
First it told me something about WinMM, so i created the appropriate
entry in the config file.
But then it refuses to install the program. The first screen of the
installer appears ok, i click on the Install option, a small splash
window appears (DemoShield blah-blah), and then it dies with this error:
[root@stantz root]# wine /mnt/GT40/clients/visio2k/2000/Setup.exe
err:cursor:CURSORICON_Destroy Destroying active cursor!
[root@stantz root]#
What could be the cause?
Maybe it's something related to the sound configuration? I don't have a
soundcard, and while Wine crashes, i see these messages in the log
files:
Jan 28 15:10:05 stantz modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-slot-0
Jan 28 15:10:05 stantz modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-0-3

Jan 28 15:10:05 stantz modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-0-0
Jan 28 15:10:05 stantz modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-slot-0
Jan 28 15:10:05 stantz modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-0-0
Jan 28 15:10:05 stantz modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-slot-0
Jan 28 15:10:05 stantz modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-0-3
Jan 28 15:10:05 stantz modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-slot-0
Jan 28 15:10:05 stantz modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-0-3
So obviously Wine is trying to access the missing soundcard (but i'm not
sure if this is why it crashes).
I attached the config file.
