I tried execute Cooledit2000.exe with these versions of wine. tillarium:/home/tilleyrw# dpkg -l | grep wine ii libwine 0.0.20011004-1 Windows Emulator (Library) ii libwine-dev 0.0.20011004-1 Windows Emulator (Development files) ii wine 0.0.20011004-1 Windows Emulator (Binary Emulator) ii wine-doc 0.0.20011004-1 Windows Emulator (Documentation) ii wine-utils 0.0.20011004-1 Wine Emulator (Utilities) ii winesetuptk 0.4.1b-3 Windows Emulator (Configuration and Setup To When I did a 'wine --winver=win95 "/mnt/C/Program Files/Cool2000/cool2000.exe"' the attached dump file resulted. Wine stumbles over any spaces (such as "Program Files") in the path name. Why is this? With "Program Files" being the standard MS Windows directory you'd think it had been programmed in by now. Attached is a dump file that is mostly filled with some font errors. Has anyone else had luck with CoolEdit2000? I'd rather use my machine (SB Live!) than my wife's (ESS Maestro). If there is anything obvious in this dump which indicates the cause of failure, I'd appreciate knowing about it. I'm only now beginning to use wine. -- Comments and further information are much appreciated. Flames, rants, and other miscellany are routed to /dev/null. Robert Tilley, tilleyrw@cfl.rr.com
