Battery life sucks. This may be due to three factors: 1. It was the first charge that the machine had 2. Playing Vorbis takes more battery power than MP3 3. The battery is a bit rubbish More considered opinions to follow. I beg to differ... 1. The battery needs to be charged/discharged a few times for it to gain its full capacity 2. True, the unit's battery life is rated for 128kbit mp3. Equalizer, higher bitrates, etc all eat into the battery life. 3. The battery is an absolutely top-of-the line Lithium Polymer cell Remember that in the beginning you tend to play with the unit a lot. The 13+ hours is when the unit plays 128kbit MP3's with flat EQ and no seeking/stop/starts which require much more HD activity. Ok, as you can tell I'm in love with my iHP-120 ;-) Seriously though, it's a great little unit. Even as a hot pluggable, unpowered diskdrive it would be pretty much worth the cost alone. I get a continuous read/write throughput of about 10MB/s over USB2. Other great features are a.o. the optical-in/out and of course Vorbis support :-D Cheers, Michiel <p>On Mon, 2004-03-22 at 22:14, Hibbs, Phil wrote:> Battery life sucks. > > This may be due to three factors: > > 1. http://www.iriveramerica.com/images/prod/120/1.jpg 4. The little inline controller has received rave reviews, but I don't see why. It has one "lock" slider and three little click-and-jog controllers. I find it hard to remember which one does what, so I end up switching tracks instead of changing the volume. It doesn't seem possible to change from one directory to another with it. I usually use the main unit's controller. Jernej Simoncic:>To go up a directory, push and hold the navi/menu button for about asecond. Thanks, I'm more than happy to be corrected!
