theora dev - Jul 2006 - ExpandBlock vs ExpandKFBlock

It could be a stupid question, but is ExpandKFBlock just a software
optimization for ExpandBlock that avoid some comparisons? Can I use
ExpandBlock instead of ExpandKFBlock?

Answering my own question:
It's not just a software optimization, and I cannot ExpandBlock instead of
ExpandKFBlock.
