You made the difference between (Can't contact the database server: No such file or directory (localhost)) and having the Syslinux wiki back on-line. Yes, that is a compliment, please accepted the compliment. If people tell you: It is an old backup. then answer: It is a backup. If you want to remain "behind the curtain", feel free to do so. If you want help from me, just ask. Doing that off-list is also fine, I will treat it confidentially. Yes, this is a volunteer who steps forward. Hi, i too applaud the revitalization of the wiki. Regrettably the corners to which i would like to refer are still unusable: http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php/ISOLINUX http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php/Isohybrid Both issue several lines like Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: group name must start with a non-digit at offset 8 in /home/www/syslinux/wiki/includes/MagicWord.php on line 888 and do not show the desired text. I have a copy of a text which i uploaded to ./Isohybrid in june 2014. 193 lines. But i also can login to the wiki (amidst protest messages) and go to the edit pages. The recent text versions are offered for editing. 235 lines in ./Isohybrid. (I now copied them to my computer.) So it seems to be about a software glitch (PHP version mismatch ?) but not the loss of all the collected knowledge. Have a nice day :) Thomas

Hi, Shao Miller wrote:> Anyway, Wiki is operational, but Dear List: Please report surprises. The PHP errors which i reported are gone now. Thanks a lot. Have a nice day :) Thomas
> Anyway, Wiki is operational, but Dear List: Please report surprises.1_ At the bottom-center, of each wiki page, there used to be a: "This page has been accessed 'N' times." message, in which 'N' was a number that (I think) comes from setting: $wgDisableCounters = true; Additionally, there used to be a "Special:PopularPages" page, available as an item at: Special Pages -> Data and Tools -> (Wiki) Popular Pages These two seem to be separate features in the wiki, but of course they are related. 2_ Additional links that are not in the Special Pages wiki page anymore (and they used to be): _ Special Pages -> Lists of pages -> Pages linking to disambiguation pages ( Special:Disambiguations ) _ Special Pages -> Media reports and uploads -> File path ( Special:ListFiles ) _ Special Pages -> High use pages -> Most linked-to templates ( Special:MostLinkedTemplates ) 3_ Additionally, the current layout of the Special Pages wiki page seems to be one column of links (under each section / subtitle of the page). The layout for this page used to be a list of links (under each section) distributed in two columns (not one). This is not critical, but perhaps there are other layouts that used to be different and that now might have some impact on readers, browsers, the presentation of certain wiki pages and so on. So, it would be nice to have a similar layout as it used to be (not just in the Special Pages wiki page, but any other that might have been in use in other pages; I wish I knew more details). This is what I have found for now. I hope that these comments might help fully reconstruct the wiki. TIA, Ady.
