Hi, I am trying to figure out a poor mans install ... I want to be able to boot CD iso thats on my hard disc .. There is an option to install via hard drive .. but I keep getting VFAT16 files system errors .. I know where copied iso image is ... I can boot kernel but linuxrc will not start LiveCD ... Maybe I could rewrite linuxrc to allow this but as it works from ram I am finding hard to figure out how to find iso Image ..?? Thanks in advance Dave T.

Dave T.. ps you can of course mount iso image on a loop device so you can copy over files .....maybe even run it I do not know... ;-)

If you have already a system prepared under a tree in your harddisk, then you could try creating a simple init that does a chroot to that tree and runs the real init.> > Maybe I could rewrite linuxrc to allow this but as it works from ram I > am finding hard to figure out how to find iso Image ..?? > > Thanks in advance > > Dave T. > > _______________________________________________ > SYSLINUX mailing list > Submissions to SYSLINUX at zytor.com > Unsubscribe or set options at: > http://www.zytor.com/mailman/listinfo/syslinux > Please do not send private replies to mailing list traffic. >-- 1/16
