[Swfdec] Segmentation fault with swfdec for arm-linux for 0.8.X
Hi, I recently compiled both 0.8.0 and 0.8.2 versions of swfdec for arm-linux with the following libraries: DirectFB-1.2.0 glib-2.16.3 gtk+-2.12.9 cairo-1.6.4 pango-1.21.3 and others. I noticed that early versions of swfdec (swfplay) 0.7x and below would work with the libraries above but the current stable versions would result in swfplay getting a segmentation fault when playing a .swf file. Is there a need to compile newer versions of the libraries above? Can anyone advise? Thanks. Regards, Edison -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... [Swfdec] Segmentation fault with swfdec for arm-linux for 0.8.X
Hey, No, 0.8.2 should work perfectly. If it doesn't, it's a bug. There is a specific type of bug that only appears on ARM, and that is unaligned access. The gcc output "warning: cast increases required alignment of target type" during compilation indicates bugs of this type. As the Swfdec developers don't compile Swfdec on ARM very often, these bugs creep back in and we rely on people like you to notify us of those. I'll get my hands on an ARM compiler right now and fix them. However, I'll still need someone to check them out of git and test after I have fixed them.
