Hi, I tried the Windows Speex executable from speex.org (speex-1.2beta3-win32.zip to be specific). When I run it from the command line, trying to encode the male.wav file from the samples page (also at speex.org), it crashes, after displaying the "Encoding ..." message and creating an empty output file. These are the details of the error that Windows reported: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: speexenc.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 475db993 Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll Fault Module Version: 6.0.6002.18005 Fault Module Timestamp: 49e03824 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0006020b OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1053 Additional Information 1: 8643 Additional Information 2: 556eb2e4be05ce0f0c4a57fc20936ae6 Additional Information 3: 83ee Additional Information 4: ee8a5adf5e6bb78dc4d52b27be818f2e I'm running Vista Home Premium 64-bit. The slightly older build (1.2 beta 2) I found at rarewares.org worked fine. Magnus
