Hi, Deaf people use a special "text telephone" called a TTY to communicate over the phone. TTYs in the US and UK employ Baudot, a 5-bit FSK protocol that uses 1300Hz and 1500Hz tones at 45 or 50 bps. 1. Could encoding/decoding these tones work over Speex in VoIP? 2. Is anyone (meaning "are YOU") interested in R&D in this direction? Satisfaction in addressing real human needs and a remote chance of earning lunch money are guaranteed. Please reply off-list. ***** Jim Tobias Inclusive Technologies tobias@inclusive.com 732.441.0831 v/tty www.inclusive.com --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'speex-dev-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body.
