WeatherScope Focus/Mouse Issues
Hey all,
I've been working on getting WeatherScope running under wine. (Freely
available at:
http://sdg.ocs.ou.edu/builds/final/win/WeatherScope/WeatherScope-1.3.exe)
It's becoming quite usable, but there are a few remaining issues I'd
like to try and shake out.
1)Mouse Interaction
There is an issue with how the program handles the mouse under wine that
makes using a program a bit

shift, alt, or ctlr + mouse click not working in 0.9.59?
Since the latest wine, I noticed that pressing down shift or alt or ctlr and clicking the mouse doesn't have the intended effect.
In games like civ4, shift or alt clicking is used for city queues and selecting multiple units, nether of which work, and in warcraft3, pressing alt will show the health bars of units, but this goes away as soon as the mouse is clicked.

Embedding Audio Files in Interactive Graphs
Hi R-ers,
I'm wondering if anyone has investigated a method for embedding audio
files in R graphs (pdf format), and allowing their playback to be
triggered interactively (by clicking on a graph element for instance).
I know how to do this in latex pdfs with the multimedia package, but
it seems that R would provide a more appropriate platform for many
reasons.
Thanks for any help you

javascript woes with radio button groups
Ok! So I have this survey project I''m working on where there are a list of
questions but only one shows up at a time.
That part''s easy. And, it is fully functional as we speak (and I think even
''live'') however.....
My boss wants to be able to have the survey go to the next question when a
user selects an answer. This part is easy.. except.....

Labeling plot points
Hi, all. I've been searching for a while to find out how to create an
scatterplot which would let a user interact with it, specifically by
hovering the mouse over a point and having a pop-up appear with data about
the point. The pop-up would disappear when the mouse moved away. I've
included a mock-up below.
I've found out how to use identify() to make a label appear when clicking a

[LLVMdev] Improving the usability of LNT
Hi Daniel,
I made some changes to the LNT perf reporting tool to make it more user friendly by adding some features:
1. Make the sidebar and the navigation bar stationary, so that it is easy to navigate the site
2. Have the pop-down menu for the items in the navigation bar, activate upon hovering the mouse, rather than clicking the item
3. Add a nav-link in the sidebar for the

LDS Scripture Search Reverse Text
Hi,
I'm running ubuntu 8.04, wine-1.0, and I used the recommended package installation script (hardy.sh).
A bit of background on the problem - there was no problem at some point prior to my upgrade to ubuntu 8.04 (I hadn't used the program for some time). I could use the search function just fine.
After my upgrade, when you used the "search" function, it would crash the

R Graph Gallery : categorization of the graphs
Hello all,
It seems that the next improvement to the R Graph Gallery is
categorization of the graphics, that way each graph will be easier to
find. That step should be done *carefully* if we want to avoid the
opposite side-effect : graph not reachable through the categories.
That's why the wisdom of the R community is required.
Graphics will be classified in :
- categories

Interactively editing point labels in a graph
Dear experts,
I would like to be able to interactively (if possible, with mouse and clik) edit point labels in graphs, particularly in multivariate graphs, such as the biplots you get after a correspondence analysis (with, for example, package ca), where labels tend to overlap. The graph aspect ratio is relevant (it needs to be mantained). And I'm working with Windows XP.
In this kind of

[LLVMdev] Dependency graphs supported by the pass manager
Hi all:
I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I haven't found a direct statement of what kinds of requirements the Pass Manager imposes on pass dependency graphs. I found a number of bug reports related to unschedulable passes (e.g. "Unable to schedule pass" asserts from the pass manager), but it isn't always clear if these are true bugs in the scheduling algorithm

lattice: simultaneously control aspect & outer whitespace
Suppose we wish to achieve the following three aims:
(1) Control the aspect ratio of our plot (i.e., tweak this till it looks
great)
(2) Save the plot as a PDF with zero or minimal white space outside it.
(3) Preserve this in code, so that in the future the exact same plot can be
reproduced by simply sourcing the code.
I can almost achieve (1) and (2) on my MacBook Pro by pointing and clicking,

Successive Graphs
Hello! I have written an R script on a Windows platform where I
calculate eight result matrices I plot using matplot. I would like to
display the resulting plots successively, rather than simultaneously,
and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as
to how to do this. The graphs pop up in this manner by default when I
run my script in S-PLUS, with tabs separating them so I

RNG Cycle and Duplication
Hello all,
I am generating large samples of random numbers. The RNG help page says:
"All the supplied uniform generators return 32-bit integer values that are
converted to doubles, so they take at most 2^32 distinct values and long
runs will return duplicated values." But I find that the cycles are not
the same as the 32-bit integer.
My test indicated that the cycles for

New to wxruby
Sorry if this is a repost for those of you who are also on the wxusers
list. But I thought I might get some more specific feedback here.
I am interested in producing graphical interface elements, like those:
