Troubleshooting sweave
Hi All, I've reproduced the example from Prof. Friedrich Leisch's webpage. When I write sweave("Example-1.Snw") OR sweave("Example-1.Rnw"), (yes, I renamed them). I get the following error: Writing to file example-1.tex Processing code chunks ... 1 : echo term verbatim Error: chunk 1 Error in library(ctest) : there is no package called 'ctest' Also while

Understanding the workflow between sweave, R and Latex
Let's say I have written the following tiny .Rnw file: _________________________________________ \documentclass{article} \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} \usepackage{Sweave} \usepackage{tikz} \usepackage{pgf} \begin{document} <<>>= sessionInfo() @ \end{document} _________________________________________ I then can go to R and use sweave to translate the .Rnw file into a .tex

Sweave problem in Windows
Hi, I have searched the lists but still can not solve the problem. I am using a windows machine. After I sweave some Rnw file, I got a tex file. However, the tex file can not be compiled. I know the problem is in the line \usepackage{C:/PROGRA~1/R/R-25~1.1/share/texmf/Sweave} and I need to modify this line to \usepackage{Sweave}. I hope there can be some automatic way to do this instead of

Sweave: R chunk inside caption?
Hi Folks, I'm surprised, but I didn't find this question addressed anywhere. I'd like to generate a LaTeX caption with R code. I've tried the code below, but I get the following TeX error: ! Argument of \@caption has an extra }. <inserted text> \par l.21 } Any thoughts? Perhaps I'll have to write the "\caption{}" text with R? thanks!

Sweave and \input or \include LaTeX commands
Hello! I was just wondering if Sweave can work with \input or \include LaTeX commands. So, is it aware of such a possible hierarchy in documents. I would test that, but I don't have such a report available at the moment. I thought of that when I was writting shell script for Sweave from command line and I have solved that part there. -- Lep pozdrav / With regards, Gregor GORJANC

Bugreport on integration of Sweave and latex beamer
I think I have isolated a problem with integration between Sweave and beamer. Could you please see the file: http://www.mayin.org/ajayshah/tmp/bugdemo.Rnw Unfortunately, it uses some of my internal libraries, so you can't run it. When I put it through Sweave, I get: http://www.mayin.org/ajayshah/tmp/bugdemo.tex which is, of course, a generic latex file which you can read and

Has anyone used Sweave with the Beamer poster macro for Latex ?
Hello, I'm trying to make a poster in Latex using the beamer poster macro (http://www-i6.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/~dreuw/latexbeamerposter.php), and use Sweave to add in R output. This works fine for adding graphics and tables, but if I want to put code in, the file fails to build in Latex. My Rnw file looks like \documentclass[final,hyperref={pdfpagelabels=false}]{beamer}

sweave and R. Searching for a document that will get me started
windows XP R 2.8.1 I would like to learn to use Sweave with R. I have no experience using Latex. I have looked at the sweave manual (http://www.statistik.lmu.de/~leisch/Sweave/Sweave-manual.pdf) and have found it difficult to understand, probably because I don't know Latex. Can someone recommend a document that will get me started with Sweave? Thanks John Confidentiality Statement: This

Sweave: looping over mixed R/LaTeX code
Dear guRus, I would like to loop over a medium amount of Sweave code, including both R and LaTeX chunks. Is there any way to do so? As an illustration, can I create a .tex file like this using a loop within a .Rnw file, where the "1,2,3" comes from some iteration variable in R? ################################################ \documentclass{article} \usepackage{Sweave} \begin{document}

LaTeX/R/Sweave Problems
Dear All: For a few days now I have struggled with recreating a stable LaTeX/R/Sweave environment on a new Windows XP SP3 machine. Unfortunately it seems that I ran out of good ideas and I would like your expert opinion on how I should approach this task and be successful. In essence, I installed (several times) in this order the following: R2.10.1 (and then R 2.9.2), Adobe Acrobat Reader 9

Sweave and bibliographies
I added a bibliographic reference to one of my .Rnw documents, to wit: \begin{thebibliography}{9} \bibitem{Jose} Jos{\'{e}} C. Pinheiro and Douglas M. Bates, \emph{Mixed-Effects Models in S and S-PLUS}, Springer, 2000. \end{thebibliography} just before the \end{document}. When I run Sweave on the result these lines disappear without a trace. Is this intentional? Subquestion: is

bizarre signif stars in Sweave latex
OK. I give up. I'll ask a stupid question. How do I get the $!#@*$ signif stars line printed by summaries to not look extremely bizarre in the latex produced by Sweave? For example, see p. 7 of http://www.stat.umn.edu/geyer/aster/library/aster/doc/tutor.pdf I can see what the problem is. R emits non-ascii characters (as it is supposed to do), Sweave puts them in the tex file, and

Sweave in LATEX
Hello I have been setting up my computer to run Sweave. I have got the whole thing working on example files, except that my MikTex returns an "Undefined Control Sequence" error for \Sexpr and my output file contains verbatim code sequences at the apropriate point in the text rather than the R output. The rest of the output file is fine with tables, R code sequences and figures in the

Sweave problem, with multicolumn tables from R to LaTeX
Hi there, I have been using the example provided bellow for a while, and It was working without any problem. Nevertheless, just since 2-3 days is not working, probably because I did update.packages(). I have tried to re-install the older versions of the packages Hmisc() and xtable(), but still does not work. Can you run this example, and tell me if you got the same problems? I use

Sweave and \Sexpr{}
Hi: I am trying to create a dynamic latex table using \Sexpr{} but it's not evaluating it. I also tried the example below without Sweave and also fails. I have also copied the Sweave.sty to my working directory but nothing seems to work. Do I need to have certain package in order to run \Sexpr{}? \documentclass[a4paper]{article} \usepackage{C:/R/R-2.8.1/share/texmf/Sweave} \begin{document}

R CMD build and vignettes
Dear R-helpers, www.statistik.lmu.de/~*leisch*/*Sweave*/*Sweave*-Rnews-2003-2.pdf says that R CMD build creates the pdf from a .Rnw file. But when I do R CMD build followed by R CMD check it gives me a warning that there is a vignette without a PDF. My query is : when R CMD build works it creates a pdf in the doc subdirectory of the directory returned by system.file(package = mypackage) and not

Sweave PDF files show plot symbols as "q"
I'm guessing this is a FAQ but I can't find it and that it is probably not exclusive R related but relevant so I thought I'd ask: When I view the PDF output from Sweave (e.g. Example 1 from the author's web site at [1]) on a Linux system using the standard PDF viewer [2], the circles for the outliers in the plot [boxplot(Ozone ~ Month, data = airquality)] show up as the letter
