End of File Error on index optmize
I was optimizing a 650MB using ferret (0.11.3) and I received the following error. I''ve seen some people have similar issues but I haven''t seen any resolutions. The contents of the index directory follow the error. Has anyone seen anything like this and found a resolution? Many thanks. /mnt/apps/search/releases/20070622175637/script/../config/../vendor/

IO Errors on deleting documents with Ferret
I have a large index (~6GB, ~1 million docs) that was built by RDig. I wrote a script to iterate through the index to clear out some duplicate information to try to reduce the size of the index. clients.each {|client| docs = RDig.searcher.search("+supplier_id:#{client.id}") docs.each {|doc| data = doc[:data].dup #the contents of the web page new_results = {}

Testing for the existence of a file.
Is there any way to do this (test for the existence of a file) in R? In Splus (3.4) I can do unix(paste("test -r", fnm), output = F) where ``fnm'' is a character string giving the pathname of the file. This returns 0 if the file exists and 256 if it doesn't. I thought in R to do something like system(paste("test -r", fnm), intern =T) but this

Improving Support for Xapian::DB_RETRY_LOCK in Windows(#65)
Hi Olly, I tried to reach you through Github notifications(email) about this issue but with no reply, so I thought we could discuss this issue here, I saw three critical problems in the last patch. 1. Adding code to wrong '#if', i added it to else branch 2. Figuring out 'fd', holding the lock and 'fnm' as in windows 'fnm' differs Help me out here, and Mention

Assignments inside lapply
Dear all I would like to ask you if an assignment can be done inside a lapply statement. For example I would like to covert a double nested for loop for (i in c(1:dimx)){ for (j in c(1:dimy)){ Powermap[i,j] <- Pr(c(i,j),c(PRX,PRY),f) } } to something like that: ij<-expand.grid(i=seq(1:dimx),j=(1:dimy)) unlist(lapply(1:nrow(ij),function(rowId) { return

Beginner help with retrieving frequency and transforming a matrix

ggplot2 Pareto plot (Barplot in decreasing frequency)
Hi all I have a large dataframe with (among others) a categorical variable of 52 levels and would like to create a barplot with the bars ordered in decreasing frequency of the levels. I belive it is referred to as a pareto plot. Consider a subset where I keep only the categorical variable in question. # Example: v1 = c("aa", "cc", "bb", "bb",

No he

Backend for Lucene format indexes-How to get doclength
*Or do you mean that it's one number per document whereas the other stats are per database, so it's harder to store it?* yes, I mean this. It's a huge data. If a new doclength list(contains all the doclength in a list, like chert) is added by myself, I am concern about: 1. This doclength list may be the bottlenect in this backend, http://trac.xapian.org/ticket/326 2. Change too much
