extracting parts of words or extraxting letter to use in ifelse-func.
Hello I want to make some variables with the ifelse-function, but i don't know how to do it. I want to make these five variables; b2$PRRSvac <- ifelse(b2$status=='A' | b2$status=='Aa',1,0) b2$PRRSdk <- ifelse(b2$status=='B' | b2$status=='Bb',1,0) b2$sanVac <- ifelse(b2$status=='C' | b2$status=='sanAa',1,0) b2$sanDk <-

t.test in a loop
Hi All, I've been having a little trouble with creating a loop that will run a a series of t.tests for inspection, Below is the code i've tried, and some checks i've looked at. I've used the get(paste()) idea as i was told previously that the use of the eval should try and be avoided. I've run a single syntax to check that my systax is correct and works without any problems

Segfault on ".C" registration via R_CMethodDef according to 'Writing R Extensions'.
Dear R List, I encountered a serious problem regarding the registration of ".C" when following the documentation "Writing R Extensions" that leads to a segmentation fault (tested on windows and mac os x). The registration mechanism for ".C" routines via R_registerRoutines and the R_CMethodDef structure has been enhanced recently with the addition of two fields, one

For Loop performance
Hello, Newbie question and hope you can help . I have two vector V1 and V2, where length(V2) = length of (V1) * 2; length(V1) ~ 16,000. For each member in V1, I need to compare 2 element of V2 for equality i.e. for (I in 1:length (V1)) { if ( v2[i] == v1[i] & v2[i+1]==v1[i] ){ statement_1 statement_2 . } } This for-loop is too slow

IMAP message ID bad for very old message
Hi, I just noticed that the ordering by message ID when accessing my email via IMAP is messed up. I'm looking in the INBOX that contains 11757 emails. For some reason a load of emails from 2009 and 2010 are being listed near the top, for example I have a message with ID 11441 from 2009 where it definitely shouldn't be, its all mixed in with emails from 2011 there. Info from

S4 initialize methods, unexpected recursive callNextMethod
Hi, Given a simple three class hierarchy: A <-- B <-- C I want to define an initialize method for each class such that when I call new("C", x=5), the initialize methods for A and B are used to incrementally build the object. When I do what seems obvious to me using callNextMethod, I get an infinite recursion. An example follows... setClass("A",

R-gui sessions end when executing C-code
Hi I'm trying to develop some C code to find the fixpoint of a contraction mapping, the code compiles and gives the right results when executed in R. However R-gui session is frequently terminated. I'm suspecting some access violation error due to the exception code 0xc0000005 In the error report windows 10 gives me. It is the first time I'm writing any C-code so I'm guessing I

panel ordering in nlme and augPred plots
Dear all I am trying nlme together with Pinheiro/Bates book. I constructed grouped data object with suitable plotting layout (according to some common factor, panels from bottom to top are in increasing order). When I do nlme(... some stuff...) I get fitted object which I can plot with plot(augPred(fit.nlme6, level=0:1)) but it results in completely different ordering. Is there any way

kruskal's MONANOVA algorithm
I am trying to obtain the Kruskal (1964) secondary least-squares monotonic transformation of a rank variable given 4 categorical variables in order to obtain optimal transformation for regression. The academic problem assigned is to compare R, SPSS (Conjoint Analysis), and SAS' proc transreg in speed and accuracy. Currently, SAS and SPSS are giving similar results, but R's are quite

va_arg on Windows 64 bits
Hi everyone, I'm interested in variadic functions and how llvm handles them. I discovered that the Clang frontend is doing a great job at lowering the va_arg (precisely __builtin_va_arg) function into target dependent code. I have also seen the va_arg function that exist at IR level. I found some information about va_arg (IR one) that currently does not support all platform. But since 2009,

DLZ Backend DNS Hosed
No, this is not needed. Solution here in this is simple. search primary.domain.tld # optional extra search domains after the primary. nameserver IP_AD-DC_OF_THIS_SERVER_FIRST nameserver IP_AD-DC_others Run : samba_upgradedns --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ And your done, all needed records are fixed/updated. This goes wrong if the IP of the running server isnt the first and/or if search is setup
