stack data sets
Hi All, I'm generating 10 different data sets with 1 and 0 in a matrix form and writing the output in separate files. Now I need to stack all these data sets in one vector and I know that stack only operates on list or data frame however I got these data sets by converting list to a matrix so can't go backwards now. Is there a way i can still use Stack? Please see the program:

Upgrade R program (version 2.6.2) ???
Hi All, I downloaded the R program (version 2.6.2) in last Jan 2008. I now want to upgrade the program to its latest version, but I don't want to go through the process of deleting the existing version and downloading the new version. This is because my existing R program has numerous packages that I downloaded for my research work. I want to upgrade my R program with those packages in it. Is

t.test in a loop
Hi All, I've been having a little trouble with creating a loop that will run a a series of t.tests for inspection, Below is the code i've tried, and some checks i've looked at. I've used the get(paste()) idea as i was told previously that the use of the eval should try and be avoided. I've run a single syntax to check that my systax is correct and works without any problems

Interface to open source Reporting tools
Hi, I am a new user of R 2.8.1. I use Tinn-R for code editing. I use a windows 2003 system with 1 GB RAM. I am interested to generate dashboard and reports based on data from MS Access. These reports need to be posted on a weekly basis to the web. The reporting interface should provide facilities for "what if" scenarios. Is it possible to interface R analysis results to good open

child killed by signal 6
Hello, from time to time I keep getting problems with some emails causing signal 6. I've already reported those, but it seems not to be easy to find the cause. From the logs, it seems to occur in sieve implementation. I've checked the email envelopes tody by accident, probably this part of my telnet session might help: a11 fetch 1 all * 1 FETCH (RFC822.SIZE 16750 INTERNALDATE

questions on subscores.
Hello, I want to compute Wainer et al's augmented subscore(2001) using IRT but I can't find any packages or relevant code. There is a 'subscore' package in R, but I think it only gives functions to calculate augmented subscores using CTT(classical test theory). Is there other package or code to compute subscores using IRT? If it is not, is there any plan to develop it in

Multiple Regression with Correlation Matrix
Hello,   In SPSS, a multiple regression can be conducted by inputting the means, standard deviations, sample size, and correlation matrix without actually using the raw dataset. Is it possible to do the same in R?   Thanks in advance for your assistance.   Linda [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Outputing residuals
Hello, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to output, to file, the residuals from a REML model-fit. The type of residuals I am interested in are the simple "original raw values - model fit" type. Thanks in advance, Josh B. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

How to build a package which loads Rgraphviz (if installed)...
Dear List, I use Rgraphviz for display of graphs in some packages. Since Rgraphviz is no longer on CRAN it needs to be installed from Bioconductor and that is fine, but I have trouble figureing out the following: I create a plot method which - if Rgraphviz is installed - uses Rgraphviz for displaying and otherwise does nothing. This is implemented as: if (!("package:Rgraphviz" %in%

Lack of independence in anova()
If the observations are normally distributed and the 2xk design is balanced, theory requires that the tests for interaction and row effects be independent. In my program, appended below, this would translate to cntT (approx)= cntR*cntI/N if all R routines were functioning correctly. They aren't. sim2=function(size,N,p){ cntR=0 cntC=0 cntI=0 cntT=0 cntP=0 for(i in 1:N){
