odfWeave: Some questions about potential formatting options
Hello All, Learning to use the odfWeave package. I really like the package. It has good documentation, makes some very nice looking tables, and seems to have lots of options for customizing output. There are a few things I'd like to do that don't seem to be covered in the documentation though. So I'm not sure if they're possible or not. Here's a list of some things I'd

Baffled: triggering error message with an sd result in odfWeave?
I hope someone can point out my stupid error, because I'm baffled. I am calculating a bunch of variable values and then placing them in a document using odfWeave tags. This is working very nicely for every spot except one. One of the values I calculate is traindev: traindev <- if (trainlength>0) round(sd(trainscores, na.rm=T),1) else "" when I try to insert this traindev

odfWeave: odt-file damaged
Dear all, I am doing my first steps with odfWeave. After running the r code (see below), I am trying to open the ODF-document with open office, but I am getting the error message: "The file is damaged, but it can be repaired". If I confirm the question and repair the file with open office, I can open it with the desired output, which seems to be fine. My system: R Version 2.9.1

odfWeave: Combining multiple output statements in a function
What is the correct way to combine multiple calls to odfCat, odfItemize, odfTable etc. inside a function? As an example lets say I have a function that needs to write two paragraphs of text and a list to the resulting odf-document (the real function has much more complex logic, but I don't think thats relevant). My first guess would be: exampleOutput <- function() {

odfWeave problem in 7.1?
Max & Friends, I've run into a problem with odfWeave 0.7.5 running under R 2.7.1 (Windows XP, SP2) doing some monthly production reports. Under 2.7.1 I'm getting various parsing errors after Sweaving starts, e.g.: Sweaving content.Rnw Writing to file content_1.xml Processing code chunks ... Error in parse(text = cmd) : unexpected input in "" > Above case works

odfWeave 0.7.17 stutters on Debian testing 64-bit amd64 systems.
Dear list, This is a copy of a mail sent to Max Kuhn, original author and maintainer of the odfWeave package, which seems not to have received it. It reports a problem that seems to be very implementation specific (reproductible on three Debian testing amd64 machine, does *not* happen on two i686 Debian testing systems, does *not* happen on an Ubuntu 11.06 amd64 machine) and therefore not

odfWeave: odt-file damaged
Dear all, I'm resurrecting this old post (about 6 monts old, reproduced thereafter) because I have struggled against the same problem and found a solution so that I found it was worth posting for the record. The simple fix when you want to use odfWeave with 7-ZIP as a compressing/decompressing utility under windows is to use the 'x' instead of the 'e' option so as to preserve

problem with odfWeave
Hello, I have encountered problems using odfdWeave. I actually have the same error message as was reported in this message ( http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/e6/help/09/01/0872.html), but I don't quite understand the answer made by Max Kuhn ("You need to cat the results using odfCAt, otherwise you are just writing the output with no XML around it."). What I am supposed to do

odfWeave repeats output
Hello all- I'm having a problem with odfWeave. I'm still testing it out, and have used both of these code chunks, which I copied off a blog: Number 1: A sample document last processed \Sexpr{Sys.time()}. This simply illustrates the output from an R command inserted into our document. This is using \Sexpr{version$version.string}. Number 2: <<Sample1>>= summary(iris) @

odfWeave produces output file that OO can't open

Errors when trying to open odfWeave documents
Hello I tried the odfWeave package today, by running the formatting.odt and example.odt files that are included with the package. They both ran fine, but when I try to open them in my OpenOffice (OpenOffice 3.1.1 on Kubuntu 9.10) I get an error "Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at 1293,124(row,col)." I also tried to open them in MS Word 2003 (Windows

odfWeave - "Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at 2, 4047 (row, col)"
When using odfWeave on an OpenOffice input document, I can not open the output document. I get the message "Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at 2,4047 (row, col)" Can anyone help me on this? (Apologies if this has been discussed before; I have not been able to find any info...) Info: I am using R.2.12.0 on Windows 7 (64 bit). I have downloaded the XML

odfWeave/XML Windows issue
I am getting the following error when using odfWeave Error in xmlEventParse(infile, handlers = handlers, trim = FALSE, state = state) : File content_1.xml does not exist This appears to be the same issue detailed in http://markmail.org/message/qsrqdtozizlngbrt#query:+page:1+mid:qsrqdtozizlngbrt+state:results however the link to XML_1.93-2.3.zip appears to be dead. odfWeave & XML error in post-processing
I've been happily building a file with odfWeave, and just as the hour draws nigh for it to be sent off, odfWeave or XML throws the following catastrophic error: ...this is the tail of entirely uneventful processing of input file..... 31 : term xml(label=LR_Fall_Model_Results) 32 : term verbatim(label=LR_Model_Fall_graph) 33 : term xml(label=LR_OMC_tab) 'content_1.xml' has

XML and odfWeave
Dear R-helpers, this is just a notice to inform everyone that the current versions of XML and odfWeave don't seem to be playing nice with each other. Since it took me quite some time to figure that out, I thought that I let you know. In my case it helped to install an older version of XML but your mileage of course may vary. FYI : XML 3.4.2 still breaks odfWeave 0.7.17
Dear list, perusing the GMane archive shows that the issue with XML 3.4.x still bugs odfWeave users. I just checked that the newer XML 3.4.2 version still give the same problem. Using it to weave a bit of documentation written with LibreOffice 3.3.3 (current in Debian testing) leads me to a 192 Kb, 590 pages document, whereas reinstalling XML 3.2.0 gives me a 4 pages, 24Kb file (not
