psm/survreg coefficient values ?
I am using psm to model some parametric survival data, the data is for length of stay in an emergency department. There are several ways a patient's stay in the emergency department can end (discharge, admit, etc..) so I am looking at modeling the effects of several covariates on the various outcomes. Initially I am trying to fit a survival model for each type of outcome using the psm

Rsync performance with very large files
We're having a performance issue when attempting to rsync a very large file. Transfer rate is only 1.5MB/sec. My issue looks very similar to this one: http://www.mail-archive.com/rsync at lists.samba.org/msg17812.html In that thread, a 'dynamic_hash.diff' patch was developed to work around this issue. I applied the 'dynamic_hash' patch included in the 2.6.7 src, but it

R 3.2.2 64 bit compilation error on AIX
Please note that if I don't specify those variables, then R 32 bit compiles fine. Can compressed music sound better than uncompressed?
I quote from "Principles of Digital Audio" by Ken C. Pohlmann: "Because perceptual coders tailor the coded signal to the ear's acuity, they similarly tailor the required response of the playback system itself. Live music does not pass through amplifiers and loudspeakers, it goes directly to the ear. But recorded music must pass through the playback signal chain. Much of the

mixtures as outcome variables
Dear R-users, I have an outcome variable and I'm unsure about how to treat it. Any advice? I have spending data for each county in the state of California (N=58). Each county has been allocated money to spend on any one of the following four categories: A, B, C, and D. Each county may spend the money in any way they see fit. This also means that the county need not spend all the money that

FYI about my Mona Vie business venture
Asterisk work does not pay all of my bills, so I have joined up with a company that has a very good payment plan. I have recently become a Mona Vie Independent Distributor. I am not going to go into a sales pitch. This is just an FYI to this opportunity. The company has grown into a Billion dollar company in just 2 years. This company's compensation plan is the best and quickest that I have

[LLVMdev] Compilation problem with JIT/Interpreter
Thank very much for this answer, so my last question will be: is it possible to use the LLVM JIT on a PS3 with Yellow Dog 6.2 distribution, instead of the LLVM interpreter, by using the PPE as it seems to be similar to 64-bit PowerPC processors? 2009/12/18 Scott Michel <scooter.phd at gmail.com> > Jerome: > > No, there are no plans to JIT to SPU. [LLVMdev] Compilation problem with JIT/Interpreter
Jerome: No, there are no plans to JIT to SPU. That's considerably more complicated -- you'd have to figure out when to JIT to the SPU and live with all of the constraints that the SPU imposes (data reformatting, r/w DMA, ensure your code lives in 256K unless you can manage to interface with the virtual I-cache work.) Basically, it's not trivial and it doesn't quite fit into the

Wsearch
Hi Noel, As we discussed on the list, I busy getting the bits and pieces in place to be able to test your windows search work. I am running all my stuff on Debian Bullseye, with Samba code in 3 lxc-containers. Two are for the DCs, one is the fileserver. Everything is managed by Ansible code, I try to avoid manual changes to my environment(s) as much as possible. Generally manual changes are

R, AIX 64-bit builds - trying to understand root cause for message: "Error: Line starting 'Package: tools ...' is malformed!"
I would be "pleased" if you would try packages - i.e., none of "Toolbox" or Perzl rpm's. The iconv I supply might not be working as is (I will need to install a new system to check). However, this is why I have been testing with R-3.2.3 - to side-step the system library dependencies. re: xz - I have "installp" version - and any of my packages should work

merging a list and data frame
Hi, I'd like to merge the following list and data frame by matching the first column in the data frame to the first number in each object of the list. I'd also like the merged object to be a list. Any suggestions? Thanks. eric a <- list(c(1,11), c(2,12), c(3,13), c(4,14), c(5,16)) b <- data.frame(1:5, 51:55) [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

I tried to bypass the check and build it anyway against the system one, but that fails as there is a iconv conversion further down the line that
