[LLVMdev] http://llvm.org/perf/ instability: some clues
Daniel, Tobias, Renato and myself have been looking a little bit at the potential underlying reason for why http://llvm.org/perf/ is instable, and have found some clues. I want to share them here to give people with more experience in the frameworks used by LNT (flask, sqlalchemy, wsgi, .) a chance to check if our reasoning below seems plausible. Daniel noticed the following backtrace in the

Anyone had success with other ORMs?
Hi, I was just wondering what levels of success people have had with other ORMs. Why did you use another ORM?.. and what benefits did it provide over ActiveRecord and others? Did it integrate well with rails? Thanks, Chris -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Upgrading MySQLdb
Hi; I've got MySQLdb installed (bridge to Python) and I can't figure out how to upgrade it. I did a find and got these paths: /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.6beta2-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/dialects/mysql/mysqldb.py /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.6beta2-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/dialects/mysql/mysqldb.pyc I don't have mysql-devel installed, so it wasn't that.

Question on Rails 3 : forms && ORM && ActiveModel
I''m a Django/Catalyst user that''s evaluating Rails ... I need a Ruby framework, and I''m trying to see if learning Rails is worth it or I should just go for Sinatra + various libs available. Django has a couple of things I like ... 1) the Forms API In Django I like that it''s being decoupled from models ... form objects have fields with validation rules that

[PATCH] Provides a reference implementation management server.
The reference implementation server is based on TG2. The majority of the boiler plate code has been stripped out to focus the server solely on the functionality necessary for a management server. merb_sequel raketasks not working?
I''m trying to run on trunk. When I run "rake -T" I get an error: undefined local variable or method `full_config'' for Merb::Orms::Sequel:Module I''m not 100% sure that I haven''t messed something up, so I hesitate to cry "bug" without checking with everyone. Is anyone else seeing this? P.S. I''m running merb trunk installed as a gem,

[LLVMdev] Test-Suite Bots failing randomly
Hi folks, I noticed our test-suite bot is failing randomly when getting a timeout on the install phase: http://lab.llvm.org:8011/builders/clang-native-arm-lnt/builds/666/steps/venv.lnt.install/logs/stdio Downloading/unpacking Werkzeug>=0.6.1 (from Flask->LNT==0.4.1dev) Exception: File

[LLVMdev] Test-Suite Bots failing randomly
Ping? This is getting as often as every other run... Is that process downloading from an internal server? If not, should we? If yes, should we not? thanks, --renato On 20 April 2013 14:03, Renato Golin <renato.golin at linaro.org> wrote: > Hi folks, > > I noticed our test-suite bot is failing randomly when getting a timeout on > the install phase: > > >

Print properties are not saved
Hi, I'm struggling to get a laser color printer working correctly. At first I wasn't able to save print properties with Ubuntu 10.04. As I read of a bug [1] that affected samba 3.4 up to 3.5.8 I upgraded to ubuntu 12.04 and samba 3.6.3. Now I'm not even able to upload drivers in the way I always did as described in [2] and [3] (Italian). My conf:: [printers] comment = All

Quick ORM question
Quick question on this query: @item.entries = Entry.find_recent(@td.id, 10) || [] My development log file shows that rails makes 2 calls to database! Is rails ORM not smart enough to know to not load the lvalue of assignment thus causing another expensive db call? Below are the stubbed models and a log snip. class Entry < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :tracking_definition def

testing for integer

choosing g/g++ compiler executable in R CMD SHLIB
Dear People, After considerable effort, I managed to install gcc-3.0 on my Debian system. However, Debian keeps gcc-2.95 around as the default compiler, and gcc, g++ point to the 2.95 version. The 3.0 versions need to be explicitly invoked as gcc-3.0, g++-3.0 etc. How can I get R CMD SHLIB to invoke gcc-3.0 instead of gcc and g++-3.0 instead of g++? I would like this to be done by default but

thick plot lines
Dear People, In a qqplot I am doing, I get lines/points that are very thick. I've tried setting the lwd variable to 0.1, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Also, I have set the value of lty to dashed, but I still get dots. The command looks like qqplot(cdf.inv(seq(0,1,length=size),theta,pos,len),empmargdistvec(len,theta,pos,size), xlim=c(-theta,theta), ylim=c(-theta,theta),

subsetting with column name as string
Hi, Consider the following > x = c(1,2) > y = c(3,4) > d = data.frame(cbind(x,y)) > d$x [1] 1 2 > d$"x" [1] 1 2 > > foo = function(val) + { + return(d$val) + } > > bar = function() + { + return(d$"x") + } > > foo("x") NULL > bar() [1] 1 2 I'm a little surprised that R accepts both the form d$x and d$"x", but
