Mininum number of resamples required to do BCa bootstrap?
I'm using R 2.15.1 on a 64-bit machine with Windows 7 Home Premium and package 'boot'. I've found that using a number of bootstrap resamples in boot() that is less than the number of data results in a fatal error. Once the number of resamples meets or exceeds the number of data, the error disappears. Sample problem (screwy subscripted syntax is a relic of edited down a more

Using PuppetDB REPL
I want to experiment a bit with PuppetDB and in the documentation there''s mention of the built in remote repl, but I can''t seem to get it working. After enabling it on "/etc/puppetdb/conf.d/repl.ini": [repl] enabled = true type = nrepl port = 8082 When I restart it the log "/var/log/puppetdb/puppetdb.log" shows that it''s started: WARN [main]

Wrong SEs in predict.lm(..., type="terms")
predict.lm(..., type="terms") gives wrong standard errors. Below, I have provided what I believe are the necessary fixes. However, there are subtleties, and the code needs careful checking. Some of the looping is surely not necessary, but it is surely best to begin with the minimum necessary changes. My tests, including checks against S-PLUS, have extended to fitting spline curves. I

Wrong SEs in predict.lm(..., type="terms") (PR#528)
>From e980153 Tue Apr 25 14:42:27 2000 To: r-help@stat.math.ethz.ch Subject: Wrong SEs in predict.lm(..., type="terms") For what it is worth, I am using RW-1.0.0 under Windows 98. I submitted this earlier to r-help. There is one change below to my proposed corrected code: predict.lm(..., type="terms") gives wrong standard errors. Below, I have provided what I believe are

segfault with correlation structures in nlme
Hi out there, I am trying to fit a species accumulation curve (increase in number of species known vs. sampling effort) for multiple regions and several bootstrap samples. The bootstrap samples represent different arrangements of the actual sample sequence. I fitted a series of nlme-models and everything seems OK, but since the observations are correlated I tried to include some correlation

[Bridge] Problem with Routed mode using br2684ctl tool
Hi, I am writing this email in sincere hope that somebody experienced similar/same problem and found solution to it. The classical bridge setup could be achieved using brctl tool, which could be found at: http://home.regit.org/br2684.html I have an ADSL CO line card Linux based [2.4.24 kernel] with 8 nas interfaces and eth0. Rather than having bridge, the decision was to have a router, which

RE: DHCP option 93 for UEFI
Ady, There are at least 3 ways to set up your DHCP server to differentiate between std DHCP, BIOS PXE and UEFI PXE. Option 93 (arch) is one way. In ISC syntax, here's 3 ways: 1. Match on VCI class "pxe-clients" { match if substring (option vendor-class-identifier, 0, 9) = "PXEClient"; set vendor-string = substring ( option vendor-class-identifier, 0, 9);

Unable to map AD Users to existing local Unix users since 4.8.x
Statement of issue -------------------------- A feature our company relied on to map AD users to existing Unix users was broken when upgrading to 4.8.x Samba packages from Red Hat for RHEL7.6 History of prior usage -------------------------- For over 5+ years and many more, our company would configure for server mode = ADS with net ads join and allow Samba to map incoming users by user name

UEFI PXE / split config / TFTP attempted to DHCP server, not TFTP server
All, I realize this is not strictly a PXELINUX question. So I hope you'll indulge me; hopefully some of these PXELINUX experts have seen this before. And can tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or confirm my suspicions. I have a test lab server at work. Split config. The network team manages the DHCP servers, points to our TFTP server. Test subnet has 3 DHCP pools. BIOS PXE, UEFI PXE and

Calculating encoded file size with different format
Hi there, Irealized different codecs can encode achieve different compression ration with different files. The point is a wma *can* result in a smaller file fo one song. For another one (all other thng like bitrate... being equal), mp"pro or vorbi or whatever you like can encode better. I guess it is possible to calculate the average resulting size using different encoders _before_ encoding

T100P HDLC configuration
All, I am trying to configure hdlc support on T100P Digium card - everything seems ok... but it just does not work at all. I was able to compile all drivers, the light on the card becomes green when I plug T1 link.... but I even can't ping default router IP... there is no data coming back to me, so I am confused completely now. Also I tried both protocols - raw hdlc and cisco hdlc. The

pxelinux efi64 boot woes on hyper-v gen 2
Ady: You seem to be taking (copy$paste) parts and pieces from different resources. Luke: Nope. The configuration works fine with PXE 2.01 clients, it's the UEFI PXE 3.2 that is having issues with the dhcp requests. The gospel is the Intel PXE 3 spec I'm RTFMing now. No copy and paste, I just started with someone elses configuration file that claims to support UEFI - or at least hopes to

Conditional logistic regression on n:m matched "cohort" data
I am designing an interlaboratory validation study for a presence/absence alternative method test kit vs. a presence/absence reference method test kit. There will be 10 laboratories conducting tests using both methods. In each laboratory, there will be 5 specimens tested, each of the 5 specimens twice by both methods (alternative, standard). The total number of data are 10 x 5 x 4 = 200.
