color2d.maplot error
Dear all
I am using color2D.maplot to map some matrixes to plot. everything works fine. It seems that when my matrix contains only the same value color2D.maplot returns the following error:

combination of scatterplot and image graph
Dear R users,
I'm interested in a combination of a scatterplot and an image graph.
I have two large vectors. Because in the scatterplot some areas are
sparsely and others densely populated, I want to see the points, and
I also want their color to be changed based on their density (similar
to a heat map). Is there a function that can do that?

Colour-coding intervals on a line
Hi,
This is a simple version of something that I am trying to do. If I can
sort the problem basically, I figure I should be able to sort it for the
program I'm writing (which would take longer to explain).
I need to know if there is any way of using different colours for
different intervals of a line on a graph. Eg. If I plot the line y=x for
x=1:10, and split this line into 106 intervals

Categorical bubble plot
Hi,
I do not have much R experience just the basics, so please excuse
any obvious questions.
I would like to create bubble plot that have Categorical data on the x and y
axis and then the diameter if the bubble the value related to x and y.
Attached to the email is a pic of what I would like to do.

Question about graphics in R
Considering the R function/plot shown below, I wonder whether
it is possible to do the following changes:
(1) Change the color of each point to be picked from
list of colors according to its z-value. (The range
should be from blue (z=0) to red (z=1).) The grid
should then be omitted. [I have seen "terrain.colors", but
don't know how to use it for this purpose.]

How to use rainbow function without the gamma argument
Hi,
I am using a old code (probably written for R 2.5) and it stops when
calling rainbow() with gamma argument. I saw that gamma argument is not
present in newer version of R rainbow function. How can I translate this
line of code:
rainbow(100, s = 1.0, v = 0.75, start = 0.0, end = 0.75, gamma = 1.5)
?
It fails with:
Error in rainbow(100, s = 1, v = 0.75, start = 0, end = 0.75, gamma = 1.5)

rainbow function
Hello
I'm using rainbow function to generate 10 colors for the plot and it is
difficult to tell the neighboring colors from each other. How can I make
the colors more differently.

Rainbow in loop
Hi R folk I have a distance time graph for a locomotive and at various times
different events occur on board the loco. I want to put a vertical line on the
speed time graph for each event, but I want to colour each different kind of
event differently to see visually whether there's any pattern to these events
happening. I could just create a vector of colours and use abline which is easy

response to different levels of toxins at 10 concentrations

plotting matrix into 2D color plots with rainbow colors
Dear all,
Can you pl. help me in plotting a matrix into 2D plot with more color
options. I tried to plot with myImagePlot with
RGB color ramp but it shows limited variation in color. There is a rainbow
plot option also. Can anyone help me.

I am a true R novice aonly using it for this function ;)
I am trying to use color2D.matplot to form a image of my data using the
following conditions
color2D.matplot(fi1, c(dr), c(dg), c(db), nslices=7, ylab='Species',
xlab="gene", show.legend=TRUE) where fi1 is my matrix.
I have a matrix with 36 columns and 130 rows. most entries are 1 or 0 and I
am trying to get this

help with ggplot2 -- ggpoint function missing?
I'm trying to follow the ggplot introduction here:

I've installed ggplot2 with install.packages("ggplot2", dep=T)
but when I try to run

I get an error:

Rainbow Ket
I have an application I wish to install under WINE on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
It uses a parallel port Rainbow (sentinel) Hardware key (dongle) I have
searched and found a few threads that discuss these devices and a few
claims that they have been made too work, but I haven't found a clear
explanation of how what is necessary to get it to work.

Rainbow Colored Scatter Plot
Hello,
I have created a 3d scatter plot using the plot3d command in the rgl
package. I have approximately 6500 data points in the scatter plot.
I would like to color these points sequentially using the entire color
spectrum. (So the first point is red, next point slightly different, and
each point gradually changes so that the final point is violet.) Is anyone
familiar with how this can be done?

converting NA/non-NA's to a binary variable
Dear R colleagues,
I am trying to create a new column in a data frame, which converts values
and NA's from another column into binary format. Essentially I need the
NA's to become 1 and the rest to be 0. The code I wrote is returning the
following error message:

How to see data for a package built under Windows
I have followed the instructions on how to build a Windows package and
everything seems to work EXCEPT that I can't see the data files that I have
loaded into the data directory. I have placed the appropriate data in the
data directory (as in the instructions). There are 3 data sets, which I can
see when I use the command in R. Details below. I have searched everywhere

tap1 problem
Hi Tinc Mailing-Group,
Having set up the kernel correctly, and got tinc running successfully,
I am now trying to get two VPNs running at once. Hence I need to
have two ethertap devices ( /dev/tap0 and /dev/tap1 ).
The first tap0 device was created thus:
mknod -m 600 /dev/tap0 c 36 16
chown 0.0 /dev/tap0
The second tap1 device was created too:
mknod -m 600 /dev/tap1 c 36 17
chown 0.0 /dev/tap1

Installing R help files (2.11 or later) when no internet access.
We work on a secure stand-alone server with no internet access, for
security reasons. We are running Windows XP. SInce version 2.11 the R
help files point straight to the internet. Is there any way we could
have a local help that we could access on our server.
