Large Data Set Help
I am attempting to perform some simple data manipulation on a large data set. I have a snippet of the whole data set, and my small snippet is 2GB in CSV. Is there a way I can read my csv, select a few columns, and write it to an output file in real time? This is what I do right now to a small test file: data <- read.csv('data.csv', header = FALSE) data_filter <- data[c(1,3,4)]

detecting null values in a CSV file
Hello all, I have a CSV file, that is 2411 columns wide. There are certain instances in teh file, where null values are located. That is: two commas together, without anything in the middle. In a certain section, the only possible values are NULL, 0,1,and 2. I need to be able to detect these NULL's and be able to have them counted. For example, in a frequency table. How can I accomplish this?

(no subject)
Hello all, I have a very large file (280k lines) containing three comma separated variables. The first variable is a 0 or 1 depicting a pass or fail. The other two are X and Y coordinates. Is there a good way I can represent this data in a chart/plot form other than using a 3d histogram? If I need to use the histogram, should I base my chart off the example contained in the RGL package? Thanks a

[PATCH 0/4] add GUID validation (RHBZ#1008417)
Hi, this patch serie adds a new GUID type in the generator, which would do the same as String, but also validating (just in the C output) the passed GUID string. This allows to reject invalid GUIDs before passing them to low-level tools. Pino Toscano (4): utils: add a function to validate a GUID string generator: add a GUID parameter type generator: generate code for parameter validation

[PATCH] generator: Add an explicit Cancellable flag
Currently any api which takes a FileIn or FileOut parameter is implicitly cancellable. This change make cancellable an explicit flag in anticipation of it being added to other apis. --- generator/generator_actions.ml | 53 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++------------- generator/generator_checks.ml | 3 +- generator/generator_types.ml | 1 + 3 files changed, 38 insertions(+), 19 deletions(-)

[PATCH 0/23] factor and const-correctness
This started as a simple warning-elimination change. I'll get back to that series shortly ;-) It turned into a factorization and constification exercise during which I got a taste of ocaml. Thanks to Rich Jones for help with a few snippets in generator.ml. The overall result is that many previously-manually-maintained bits from daemon/*.c functions are now hoisted into the automatically-

total warning-removal for daemon/
The warnings in daemon were aggravating and risky for development (too easy to miss new ones) so I spent some time last week and today working on removing them. The first patch gets us down to almost no warnings with the original -Wall setting. That was by far the hardest part. Once I'd done that, I enabled nearly all of gcc's warnings via gnulib's warnings and manywarnings modules

Decoding with 8 bit-samples
Hi! I'd like to make a stereo 8-bit wav file from a stereo (16 bit) ogg vorbis file (in delphi, with the vorbisfile). I use: ret := ov_open_callbacks(filein,vf,nil,0,ops_callbacks); if ret = 0 Then begin fileOut := TFileStream.Create(savedlg.FileName,fmCreate); repeat ret := ov_read(VF, pcmout, BufferSize, 0, 1, 1, nil); //'cause of the 8-bit

globalVariables()
Dear r-devel list members, By placing a call to the new (with R 2.15.1) globalVariables() in the development version of the Rcmdr package, I've succeeded in reducing the "notes" produced by R CMD check from dozens to two. But I still get the following notes, even though '.commander.done' is in the call to globalVariables(): ------------- snip ------------ * checking R code

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847880 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847881 This patch series adds various optional arguments to the tar-in and tar-out commands. Firstly (1/7) an optional "compress" flag is added to select compression. This makes the calls tgz-in/tgz-out/txz-in/txz-out deprecated, and expands the range of compression types available.
