RQuantlib ?Windows Binary?
R: Is there a reason why there isn't a Windows Binary version of RQuantlib on CRAN? Usually when there is no binary, I just source the source code, but this one appears to have various calls and methods and things like that so I'm hesitant to do so. I know there has been a big discussion on why Rmetrics doesn't have source for unix/linux, but that isn't on CRAN. Through

'RQuantLib for 2.12 version
Dear R users, I have been trying to use RQuantLib in the 2.12.2 R version. I downloaded the .zip file from <http://sourceforge.net/projects/quantlib/files/QuantLib/> http://sourceforge.net/projects/quantlib/files/QuantLib/ which didn't work, so I I downloaded the package source from <http://sourceforge.net/projects/quantlib/files/QuantLib/1.0.1/>

Financial functions
In what R package(-s) can I find the entire set of financial functions that you can find in MS-Excel such as PMT, PPMT, FV and IPMT? Ciao Vittorio

minus I and minus L flags
I have been RTFM/doc/www, but I'm still lost. How does one tell R CMD INSTALL and R CMD check (both) that libraries are installed in non-usual places and so -I/APPS/include (or whatever) is necessary in CPPFLAGS and -L/APPS/lib (similarly) is necessary in LDFLAGS? I know I can hardwire them in pkg/src/Makevars, but this requires hand editing of that file by each installer (yuck!) rgentlem

Joshua, Thanks for the response. When you said at least version 3.4.0, I upgraded to 3.4.2 which I believe is the current version. Now, I attempted to install the package RQuantLib but it did not work. Here is what I got: > install.packages("RQuantLib") Installing package into ?C:/Users/rsher/Documents/R/win-library/3.4? (as ?lib? is unspecified) Warning message: package

OA, Thanks for the response. I downloaded the file RQuantLib_0.4.4.tar.gz into a directory c:\r.zip on my Windows machine. I then ran the following command and I received the following output: > install.packages("RQuantLib", lib="/r.zip/") Warning message: package ?RQuantLib? is not available (for R version 3.4.3) I did not unpack the .gz file. Should I have? Please

I have recently installed R on my new computer. I also want to install the package RQuantLib. So I run the following command and get the following output: > install.packages("RQuantLib") Installing package into ?C:/Users/rsher/Documents/R/win-library/3.2? (as ?lib? is unspecified) --- Please select a CRAN mirror for use in this session --- Warning message: package ?RQuantLib? is

The issue is fAsianOptions. Is there a version that works with the latest version of R? If not, which version of it works with which version of R and where can it be found? I tried several at the archive already. Alternatively, is there another package that behaves similarly to prob? The prob package has been archived because it depends upon some other packages which have issues. However, such projects as Introduction to Probability and Statistics in R depend upon it for learning. There are a few other resources that also use it. Does anyone know of any workarounds? Someone at stack exchange mentioned using R 2.9. However, that broke my RStudio (WSOD) and the dependent

Yes. That's the version I've been discussing that has non-zero exit status. That situation is why CRAN retired the prob package. It's possible you installed that library earlier in development and it's been "carried" along. It no longer installs, now. The problems with all of this seem to have started this month according to the conversations. However, no one has

Sometimes that message appears when using a CRAN mirror that is not up-to-date or has communication problems. Might also try another mirror. -- Sent from my phone. Please excuse my brevity. Yes, that is exactly what I was doing two days ago. Warning in install.packages : installation of package ?fAsianOptions_3010.79.tar.gz? had non-zero exit status Which is what a reading of the explanation for why "prob" was retired leads one to expect. Do you have some other suggestion about how to get it to work? I notice you're not using Windows which might have a relationship

Rtools is not available for the current version of R. What I'm looking for is an alternative package or how others have managed to create workarounds. Thanks. I found that, and installed it and got the same message.
