default error page
Help, please.
I need redirection to a custom error page, instead of
the default Rails messages (e.g. Unknown action).
I use WebRick, no Apache, and i think i can''t use
public/.htaccess (# General Apache options).
Thanks.

uprgrade to 0.10: uninitialized constant Class::Object
Hi,
I installed rails 0.10 with ruby gem, and upgraded my application as
described at http://manuals.rubyonrails.com/read/book/15 .
Now, when accessing the action index of the controller rss_feed, I get
this error in the terminal when I started the server:
#<NameError: uninitialized constant Class::Object>

NameError in <controller not set>#<action not set>
I can''t figure out why I''m getting the following error. There''s
nothing wrong in my communities_controller file. And the helper for
communties exists.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe

InstantRails 1.0 problems...
Hi,
I have installed InstantRails 1.0 Final on Win XP (Home SP2) and Win 2K 2000.
I was able to get the two apps (cookbook, typo) work fine with Webrick but not with SCGI server. I tried changing the SCGI settings through the InstallRails.exe console so that the Runtime Mode: would be "development" instead of "production" and SCGI port: to 5000 instead of 9998.

MySQL losts connection, can''t refer to User
Hi
Another problem here. After the upgrade to 1.1 both rails and engines,
my app on windows crashes very often on requests. It can''t refer to User
model or losts connection to mysql. It appears like 2-3 times per 10
requests.
Eg.

WEBrick Bad File Descriptor Error
All of a sudden I have a wierd error when running script/server on a
Windows XP box. Webrick is failing with a bad file descriptor error.
I''m sure it''s conflicting with something in my enviornment, but I
cannot figure out what. I googled the issue and haven''t been able to
find any answer for it.
Although, I did find a workaround. If I''m using a port above

ERROR NoMethodError: private method `gsub!' called
I have just upgraded to Ruby 1.8.7 and Rails 2.2.2. My previous project
was at Ruby 1.8.6 and Rails 2.0.2. My platform is Windows and Webrick

When I run Webrick, the server starts without error, the application
runs, database connections work and I can click through the pages and
display data. But it does not serve any stylesheets or javascript

Using a controller to initiate a plugin?
Folks I am new so I apologize if I come off as a totaly tool. I am
finding Rails to be an amazing framework to use and having fun with it.
I have run into a frustrating snag however with PLUGINS.
I have a plugin installed in: /myapp/vendor/plugins/
When I run: ruby script/server in /myapp/ my WEBrick starts normally and
I can access IP:3000. I get the default rails index page.

(BUG in svn/trunk?) - superclass mismatch for any subclass of ApplicationController
I track svn/trunk of Rails using svn:externals
Some change to Rails committed in the last 1-2 days broke my subclass
of ApplicationController
The example, below, works with Rails 1.0, but in today''s svn, it dies
with the following error:

Rails failure after upgrade to 1.1.2
Greetings,
I tried upgrading Rails to 1.1.2 and now nothing is really working. In
connection to the Rails upgrade I upgraded my Ruby version to 1.9.0. I
also upgraded all my gem installs.
Since my old rails apps stopped working I tried generating a fresh one
, alas with the same result. Below I included the full trace when
trying to reach the app. Line 3 in application.rb is :

Datebocks and EdgeRails
Hello,
I am having trouble trying to use the Datebooks Engine with Edge Rails.
Has anybody try with it?
It seems that the problem has something with loading the layout, and
complaints about the number of arguments.
I will thank any help or guide.
Thank you very much.

scaffold :product missing in Rails 2.0.2 version of depot tutorial?
I am getting an error when I try to run the code for the depot
application (page 67 in the Agile Web Development on Rails book, 2nd

worked well. I then updated to Gem 1.0.1 and RoR 2.0.2, and attempted
to repeat the tutorial, and got this strange behavior.
I used "rails depot --database=mysql" because I have not
