RSQLite problems
Hi, I'm experimenting with using (R)SQLite to do data management. Here are two little problems that I've encountered: 1. The presence of ',' in string values causes trouble since ',' is also the delimiter used in the SQL statement. 2. A newline '\n' line attached to the last string value of each row. Some examples: > library (RSQLite) Loading required

Searching for a string in RSQLite
I'd like to search for a particular string in an SQLite database using RSQLite, but I'm running into problems constructing the query properly, because of embedded quotes and parens in the string. Is there a function that escapes these for me, or some other fixup that would let me do the queries below? In the real situation I don't have control over what strings get searched for.

RSQLite to input dataframe
Dear r helpers, At first, I apologize for raising a query which seems to be a stupid interpretation on my part. I am trying to learn SQLite. Following is an example given in the RSQLite.zip file (Page # 4) drv <- dbDriver("SQLite") tfile <- tempfile() con <- dbConnect(drv, dbname = tfile) data(USArrests) dbWriteTable(con, "arrests", USArrests) On the similar

Hi All, My R code takes very long time to finish the processing. I want to see at what stage the script is running. So I wrote some output messages using cat. But instead of displaying the cat messages at different stages they are buffered and displayed in the end when entire processing is done. Can you please suggest how to stop this buffering or some alternative way to display messages Thank

RSQLite column names underscores
Hi, When I use RSQLite's dbWriteTable(...) function, the columns in the db table frequently end up having "__1" (two underscores and a one) added to them. The names are unique within the table and contain no weird characters. For example a "position" column from a data.frame was written to the DB as "position__1". Does anyone understand how this name munging
