Curva dosis-respuesta
estimacion del modelo. Si la estimacion funciona, todo lo demas funciona;
de lo contrario, todo fallara. Tengo algunas lineas que mitigan un

Don't know which model in"drc" package is to be used to find EC values.
Hi every one,
I am using the package 'drc' to model root elongation using dose
response data. I don't know which model I should use. Though I don't
know which model I should use, I tried the following codes given
below. But it produced the error messages. Can any one tell me the code
in 'drc' package to find out the EC (Effective Concentration) values

how to estimate dose from respond given drc package result
Dear all,
I can use the very nice drc package (multdrc()) to model and plot a
dataframe containing dose and response values. I can also use
predict.drc() to yield response values given a dose. I need to do the
opposite, estimate a dose given the response. The general predict
documentation seems to say that this is possible, but it does not
appear that predict.drc has that capability.

extracting pvalues from ttest
Hello list,
I have a similar issue as this post
http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/e6/help/09/04/11438.html#options2 and I
used the suggestion provided by Jorge with modifications to my data
do.call(c,lapply(your_list_with_the_t_tests,function(x) x$p.value))
but I am getting the following error after excuting the code

Crash in the latest release
I found this by accident yesterday. The program that crashes is the first two lines of
the example from the help page for nlmer. That example hasn't changed in a long time, so I
assumed that it is an R-devel issue. It could also be a long latent nlmer bug. The second
run with valgrind is puzzling.

Newbie in R: Reading .txt files and storing the 'numbers' in a vector
Hello everybody,
I'm a newbie in R and just went through an introduction class recently.
Here's my problem.
I have 2 text files (.txt) with plain numbers ('doubles' for those who
know c++) ordered into 2 columns as below:
coordinate1 value1
coordinate2 value2
coordinate3 value3
... ...
coordinateN valueN
I would like to write a small programme in which i would:

How to regress data into coefficients for a gamma function
Hello,
I need to regress data like the example below. The data points
represent friction factors derived from observed trip length data. The
function used to describe this data is a gamma function of the form,
f(t) = a * t^b * e^(c*t) and I need to regress the data to obtain the
a,b, and c coefficients. The gamma function can also be expressed in
the log-linear form, ln[f(t)] = ln[a] + b

Peak number of calls?
Is there any way to find-out the peak number of calls that an asterisk
system has had? Not the total number of calls, but the maximum number of
simultaneous calls.
I know I can porobably go through the CDR logs and look for calls which
have overlapped in time, but I'm wondering if there's some counter
somewhere I could access...

ED50 calculation in drc package
Hi,
I am trying to use drc package to calculate IC50 value. The ED50 calculated in some models (LL4 for example) as a response half-way between the upper and lower limit, which is the definition of the relative IC50 value. Does that mean the ED50 in drc package is IC50? How the ED function in drc package distinguish to estimate ED or IC values?
Thanks a lot

drc results differ for different versions
Hello,
We use drc to fit dose-response curves, recently we discovered that
there are quite different standard error values returned for the same
dataset depending on the drc-version / R-version that was used (not
clear which factor is important)
On R 2.9.0 using drc_1.6-3 we get an IC50 of 1.27447 and a standard
error on the IC50 of 0.43540
Whereas on R 2.7.0 using drc_1.4-2 the IC50 is

one-site competition data // curve fitting
Hello everyone,
I have biological data from a competition experiment where a free ligand is titrated against the binding of a protein.
Now, I would like to fit a standard on-site binding curve to this data in order to obtain the IC50 and Kd values.
Unfortunately I have not been able to find a package/function which allows such a fitting and calculates the results.
Does anyone know if there is

Probit analysis
Respected Sir/Madam,
I have a question regarding calculation of LD50 (Lethal Dose) and IC50 (50%
inhibitory concentration) of an antimicrobial experiment.
I have used a compound isolated from a plant and observed its effect on the
fungus *Fusarium oxysporum* by the food poisoning method. Solutions of the
compound at concentrations of 0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250µg/ ml were added

Problem in shiny writing a .txt file
Hi all!
I'm developing a shiny app and I have problems when I wanna write a .txt
file.
First of all, I change the directory in order to work in a temporal one:
wd <- tempdir()
setwd( wd )
res.path <- paste0( wd, "/OUT/" )
dir.create( res.path )
Just before calling the function that fails, I remove, if exist, the old
files of the directory:
file.remove( paste0(
