GWR Predictions' standard deviation
Dear all, I would like to use a GWR model in order to spatially predict food insecurity in Africa. I have a georeferenced village data-bases and I've run a "classic" regression model (taking into account the spatial dependence of the errors) that works fairly well for Niger that is a quite homogenous country. Now, I would like to make the same thing for countries where it should be

A question about pairs()
Greetings R users, I am an R graphics newbie trying to produce a custom trellis plot using pairs() with R 2.7.2. I have spatial data on which I run a geographically weighted regression (gwr, using the -spgwr- package). I want to check the gwr coefficients for multicollinearity and spatial association, following Wheeler and Tiefelsdorf (2005), and I would like to summarize the results of this

geographically weighted glm
Hi all, I am interested in obtaining R code related to geographically weighted regression. In particular, I am interested in building geographically weighted Poisson GLMs. The model will contain categorical and continuous x independent variables, with interaction effects between categorical and continuous variables. Anybody have anything I can look at? thanks, Mark. --

Problems with implementing gwr when categorical variables are included
Hi guyz I have problems running the gwr when I include the categorical/nominal variables with 2 to 3 levels. Could it be that gwr does not cater for such variables? I tried indicating that these variables are factors but this is not helping. Firstly, the cross-validation bandwidth (using gwr.sel) cannot be computed (gives warnings) and the gwr does not give the parameter estimates (Error in abs

CRAN packages mis-using \donttest : falsy
Hi all, anyone has an idea how I could fix this? \donttest{ ## Set colors from colorspace package with a fallback col <- try(colorspace::rainbow_hcl(5), silent = TRUE) %||% rainbow(5) } The problem is that this makes R CMD check freak out (http://www.r-project.org/nosvn/R.check/r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-clang/falsy-00check.html) if the colorspace package is not declared as a dependency.

'constrained' negative.binomial model estimates
Hello list, I am not sure if the terminology that I am using here is widely used, however, I provide an example in the hopes that my problem will become clear. My basic problem is that I am unsure of how to 'constrain' my model estimates to reproduce the aggregate (by factor levels) observed dependent variable for a negative.binomial model. I realize this sounds rather vague, so I provide

How to compile "iaxclient" with MinGW/Cygwin
Hello, I can?t compile "iaxclient", because one needs to compile the new version "wiax.dll". I tried to compile it under MinGW/Cygwin, but I had the messages like: cc -I. -Igsm/inc -Iportaudio/pa_common -Iportaudio/pablio -Iportmixer/px_common -Ilibspeex/include -g -O2 -DSPEEX_PREPROCESS=1 -DNEWJB -Ilibiax2/src -IAXC_IAX -DLIBIAX -DSPEEX_EC=1 -DWIN32 -DBUILDING_DLL -c

Doubling network and disk with gplpv 9.12.pre13 in Russian Windows 2003
Hi James Harper and others, I seen that problem already discussed early, but maybe it help you make hiding qemu devices when install gplpv driver. For now, when install gplpv i has not working qemu disk driver (gplpv works) and not working gplpv network (i think i can disable realtek network card and then gplpv will work). When you discuss German and French windows versions - you ask about

Problem in loading all packages all at once
Hi All Please see the Rprofile file which i have modified as follows and after that when I start R then I see that R says to me "TRUE" for all the packages implying that all loaded at once. But when i try to use commands as simple as help("lm"), it doesnt work nor any of the menu "Packages" is not working. Although the regression using lm ( Y ~ X ) is working

numeric_spell plugin
I''ve created a plugin that lets you spell out numbers (under one thousand, in English, for now). Examples: >> 23.spell => "twenty-three" >> 23.spell :noun => ''person'' => "twenty-three people" >> (23.14).spell_currency => "twenty-three dollars and fourteen cents" >>

Pointer to fourteen patches to speed up R
I've continued to work on speeding up R, and now have a collection of fourteen patches, some of which speed up particular functions, and some of which reduce general interpretive overhead. The total speed improvement from these patches is substantial. It varies a lot from one R program to the next, of course, and probably from one machine to the next, but speedups of 25% can be expected in

combining 40,000 with 40,000 data frame (different tact)
I have not been able to find anything to do what I want, so I am going to tact to the left. I have twp continuous time series for two years with the same fourteen variables. I would like to simply append the second year to the first. They both have the same column headings etc. Just like tapping two pieces of paper together for a long number series. Thanks Stephen -- Let's not spend our

[LLVMdev] Regarding ARM CodeGen
Hi all, I am using LLVM compiler and CodeGen for generating ARM binaries. I was going through the code for ARM backend. I noticed that the ARM Condition field( Bits 31-28) is generated by converting the conditions used in icmp and branch. For example, if I have following C Code int a,b,c,d; c = a+b; if(c==0) d = a + 10; Then I get ( Assembly Instructions with opcodes only) add *cmp*

case sensitivity, "Match User" and "AllowUsers"
Hello, I sent this last week before signing up for the list, but haven't seen it in the archives, so I'm guessing it got discarded either as spam or HTML (sorry about that). In any case, the following was sent to comp.security.ssh early last week and I have gotten no response there. Can anyone here shed some light? Thanks, Eric ------------------------------------------ Hello,
