biplot package
Dears,
I've been learning biplot (Gabriel, 1971) and I found the function 'biplot', inside of the package 'stats',
useful but, a bit limited.
So, I'm thinking to start a colaborative package to enhance this methods to other multivariate methods. In this
way, I would like to start it, making public a new function (biplot.pca, still in development, but running)
that make

Loop and loop output [Cox model, for, function, loglik]
Dear R users,
Below I have written 4 functions CIT1, CIT2a and CIT2b and CIT3 which
recode a variable CLD_ISCH into 3 new variables(T1 T2 T3), I wish to use
T1, T2 and T3 based on the values of tf1 and tf2.
(NOTE:- T2a is used to create T2 in a long winded manner due to my lack
of programming experience)
I then attach T1 T2 and T3 to a dataset KidneyT that contains other
variables i wish to use

Colour filling in panel.bwplot from lattice
Inspired by colouring the dots of box-whisker plots I am trying to also
fill the boxes (rectangles) with different colours. This seems not to
work as I expected.
Looking at the help page of panel.bwplot it says: 'fill - color to fill
the boxplot'. Obviously it is only intended to fill all boxes with only
one colour?
Nevertheless the following example shows, that 'fill' from

rgl.postscript() failure when saving a scene
Dear all,
I write to the community to know if other people
expierenced the same problem. I want to save a rgl
scene where I plotted a 3d cloud of spheres whose
radius is set proportional to a given variable and
coloured by another group variable and with 95%
ellipsoids for distribution of any group.
I had no problem at all for coding but I had two

biplot breakdown help
Hi,
I am trying to understand how the biplot.prcomp is constructed so I can
manipulate it to emphasise particular observations and reduce the number of
variables shown.
The prcomp model I have ran has cor=TRUE and scale=TRUE
I have worked out from looking at str(prcomp.model) that...
prcomp.model$x = the observations ploted in the biplot
prcomp.model$rotation = the variables that form the

reproducing scaling used in biplot(pc.biplot=TRUE)
Hello,
I'd like to reproduce the standard biplot with pc.biplot=TRUE using
xyplot in lattice in order to assign different symbols to groupings
of observations (similar to the example in fig. 11.2 on page 285 in
DAAG). In order to reproduce the biplots I need to know how to scale
the observations and variables. In ?biplot.princomp I found that the
variables are scaled by 'lambda ^

shapes in rgl
Does anyone have a way of producing solid shapes other than spheres in
rgl? I am using rgl to produce a simple visualisation of a forest model
results using "lollipops". Its just a bit of fun, but as many of the
trees are pines I would like to depict their crowns as cones. If there
is a solution I need it to work under windows.
Here is the example.

grDevices::bringToTop is documented but not available: A bug?
It's a Windows-only function. It looks like revision r75103 moved it
out of the Windows section of the help pages six years ago. Some other
help pages were similarly moved, e.g.
   - ?windows and ?windowsFonts, document the functions as being
Windows-only.
   - ?msgWindow and ?windows.options have the same issue as ?bringToTop.
Maybe someone remembers the intention of that move...

Summary statistics & plots of repeated measures data
I'm an R novice and my colleagues are about to convince me to get my
data into SPSS, which will presumably be easier for someone who
doesn't live in R to point and click his way into some kind of
analysis that might be meaningful.
I've got two groups of subjects (classkey in the table below).
They've each received several different treatments. One measure is a
