correct lme syntax for this problem?
Hello all,
I am about to send off a manuscript and, although I am fairly
confident I have used the lme function correctly, I want to be 100%
sure. Could some kind soul out there put my mind at ease?
I am simply interested in whether a predictor (SPI) is related to
height. However, there are five different populations, and each may
differ in mean level of height as well as the relationship

Extracting variance components from a Manova
I am trying to run a simple nested manova with two levels of nesting,
Sires, and Dams within Sires. The goal is to extract the among sires
covariance matrix and secondarily, the among Dams within Sires
covariance matrix. Both sires and dams are random effects. At present
there are four dependent variables, but that may change. This is part of
a larger bootstrapping project, so efficiency and

MuMIn for GLM Negative Binomial Model
Hello
I am not able to use the MuMIn package (version 1.7.7) for multimodel inference with a GLM Negative Binomial model (It does work when I use GLM Poisson). The GLM Negative Binomial gives the following error statement:
Error in get.models(NBModel, subset = delta < 4) :
object has no 'calls' attribute
Here is the unsuccessful Negative Binomial code.

Generalised Estimating Equations on approx normal outcome with limited range
Dear R users
I am analysing data from a group of twins and their siblings. The measures
that we are interested in are all correlated within families, with the
correlations being stronger between twins than between non-twin siblings.
The measures are all calculated from survey answers and by definition have
limited ranges (e.g. -5 to +5), though within the range they are
approximately normally

Storing whole regression results
Hello seasons R users,
Is it possible to store a complete regression result into an array? I've
already been able to save individual regression coefficients, but would like
to store the whole regression results into different arrays through a loop.
So that in under different quantiles regressions, I would be able to create
a loop and store the full regression result each time into a

ACL syntax for setting specified folders within Maildir/ read-only for owner
Hi,
I have dovecot (2.2.16, see dovecot -n at end) installed to /opt on
CentOS 6 for access on a local network. I would like to create an
archival mail account which will reduce the primary account file size
and still make older emails easily accessible. How can I set specified
folders in this Maildir read-only with ACL? For example, I included this

how to manually specify domain controllers
Hi,
I see you have had no replies as of yet.. Can you clarify the scenario - is
freeradius installed on both of your samba servers, and configured to
authenticate against the local samba server for active directory
integration? Or is the scenario something different?
I use freeradius here; each of my DCs has freeradius installed and
configured to use the local samba server. But it's down to

Help with Subtracting an effect from a Mixed Model
Hi Everyone,
I posted a similar question about a week ago, but haven't gotten any
replies -- I'm afraid that's because my previous question was too
vague. Let me try again with a more specific question, and I hope
someone can help. NOTE, I know I should be using the newer lme4
package, I just haven't had a chance to update my version of R yet, so
the question below relates

lme4 problem: model defining and effect estimation ------ question from new bird to R community from SAS community
Hi R community,
I am new bird to R and moved recently from SAS. I am no means expert on
either but very curious learner. So your help crucial for me to learn R.
I have already got positive expression.
I was trying to fit a mixed model in animal experiment but stuck at simple
point. The following similar example is from SAS mixed model pp 212.

wbinfo -u and -g gives no output
What version are you using?
I also had this problem with a security update of debian. I reported this to then and they fixed it. So if you are using debian, update to the latest version and see if this works

Single user to have lrw to all mailboxes
I have implemented a global acl:
* owner lrwstipkae
INBOX.Spam owner lrwstipeka
.Trash owner lrwsti
INBOX.Trash owner lrw
* user=master-user at mydomain.com lrs
* owner lrwstipkae
But the master-user then loses all other permissions on his own mailbox, he is left only with: lrs
Any pointers on how to fix this?

R extracting regression coefficients from multiple regressions using lapply command
Hi, I have a question about running multiple in regressions in R and then
storing the coefficients. I have a large dataset with several variables,
one of which is a state variable, coded 1-50 for each state. I'd like to
run a regression of 28 select variables on the remaining 27 variables of
the dataset (there are 55 variables total), and specific for each state, ie
run a regression of

nonparametetric bivariate regression
Hi there,
Does R has built-in codes for nonpara. bivariate regression so that I can
estimate the joint distribution of two variables as a function of some
covariates? Thanks a lot.

how to manually specify domain controllers
We have two Samba 4.2.3 servers with FreeRadius to authenticate wireless users against active directory. Using DNS, sometimes both servers end up using the same domain controller to authenticate users. I would like to distribute the load to different DCs. Is there a way to manually point Samba to certain DCs?
I tried the following configuration:

What is this called? lapply(datum,"[[","ColumnName")
Hello R users
I recently learned how to use this command:
lapply(datum,"[[","ColumnName")
Unfortunately, I don't know how exactly it works, what it's called (in
particular the "[[" part], and what other things you can do with it
(retrieve multiple columns?).
Given datum is a list of dataframes with the same column, but different

wbinfo -u and -g gives no output
The strange thing is that I cloned this server from another server, and the original server does not have the "wbinfo -u" problem. Both servers have the exact same configurations..
Thanks.
