migrating Samba PDC to a new server
Hi, I'd like to migrate Samba 3.0.24-6etch10 PDC running on a Debian server to a new Ubuntu server. I plan to install Samba 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.4 on the new server and then copy the files in /etc/samba and /var/lib/samba and copy the related Linux users in /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. Will it work? Thanks in advance! ----- -- Kent Tong Wicket tutorials freely available at

does it make sense to run rsync over ftp (curlftpfs)?
Hi, It seems to work but very slowly. I guess it's because rsync has to read the complete file content on the remote host, so does it make any sense at all to do it over FTP? ----- -- Kent Tong Wicket tutorials freely available at http://www.agileskills2.org/EWDW Axis2 tutorials freely available at http://www.agileskills2.org/DWSAA -- View this message in context:

Slow read performance
Help please- I am running 3.3.1 on Centos using a 10GB network. I get reasonable write speeds, although I think they could be faster. But my read speeds are REALLY slow. Executive summary: On gluster client- Writes average about 700-800MB/s Reads average about 70-80MB/s On server- Writes average about 1-1.5GB/s Reads average about 2-3GB/s Any thoughts? Here are some additional details:

[LLVMdev] configuring LLVM 2.6 for OSX 10.4sdk on OSX 10.5 system
Hi all, (Sorry if the answer to this is obvious - and thanks in advance~) Short version: linker error of _backtrace from LLVMSystem.a building a dynamic library embedding LLVM/clang, both against the OSX 10.4 sdk. Long version: I've just tried rebuilding my project using the 2.6 release, using the following commands to try and force LLVM to build against the OSX 10.4 sdk (I am

cluster.min-free-disk not working
Further to my last email, I've been trying to find out why GlusterFS is favouring one brick over another. In pretty much all of my tests gluster is favouring the MOST full brick to write to. This is not a good thing when the most full brick has less than 200GB free and I need to write a huge file to it. I've set cluster.min-free-disk on the volume, and it doesn't seem to have an

[LLVMdev] quick q configuring osx
Sorry if this is a newb q... I'm developing an application on a 10.5 machine but want to target the 10.4 SDK. Is there a magic incantation for the llvm configure script to set the sysroot path, equivalent to e.g. --with-sysroot "/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk"? Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Streams dropping out after 8-12 seconds in Edge, IE
Hi Is anyone experiencing Icecast streams dropping out after about 8-12 seconds in Edge or IE? It's fine in Chrome or Firefox. It's also fine in the new Chromium based Edge. I have a number of listeners reporting it. It also happens on some of the streams in the http://dir.xiph.org/ Icecast directory (Alt Rock 97, Wakefield FM, KBSU, 80s 90s Hit Radio etc.). Here's one of my stream

An interesting call path observation..
This is not really a problem just something I noticed in my testing.. When two or more Asterisk servers are connected by IAX2 trunks it does not make use of any "shortest path" type system.. (maybe this is still planned somwhere down the line, but may come in handy to those who have multi asterisk installations) Here is the setup.. UA1--- Asterisk1----[IAX2 Trunk]---Asterisk2---UA2

[LLVMdev] runStaticConstructorsDestructors not calling static destructors
Hi there, I'm having trouble getting ExecutionEngine->runStaticConstructorsDestructors(module, true) to actually trigger static destructors in my code. The static constructors however do get called. I don't know if this is an LLVM or Clang issue, from looking at the IR (see below) it looks like the destructor is being tied to cxa_atexit, and I wonder if that is not called by

[LLVMdev] quick q configuring osx
Hi, For the record, adding UNIVERSAL_SDK_PATH=/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/ was insufficient to restrict the .a/.o files to link against the 10.4 sdk, but env MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=10.4 make did the trick. [LLVMdev] assert problem embedding llvm libs in linux - stuck
Hi, I have a shared library that makes use of LLVM/clang to add JIT capabilities to a front-end interface in Lua. This shared library is used within an executable application. This all works and builds fine on OSX, but I'm having trouble replicating it for Linux. The build process goes fine, with no changes to the library code, however I'm receiving a SIGABRT caused by an

Internationalisation/Internationalization
Good Morning, I'm working with a queue at the moment and I having trouble with my digits. Australia is my example. On the tiki it says for international digits, I can dump them in the "digits/au" directory. I tried that -- just because, I also made a copy in "au/digits". When the queue announces the position I it says: -- Started music on hold, class
