Sweave and size10.clo
Using Sweave on Windows (MikTeX 2.5 and R 2.4.1), I've ran into a bit of a problem with the tex -> DVI process. First, I've corrected the common \usepackage error by using \usepackage{"C:/Program Files/R/R-2.4.1/share/texmf/Sweave"} to get around the spacing problem. That is, LaTeX is finding the Sweave.sty, which has been a common problem in past postings here. However, my

Problem Sweaving vignettes: MiKTeX's texi2dvi reports errors
Hi, I am trying to create a Bioconductor package. Everything installs and checks fine. Now I'm on my last step, which is to create a vignette. I'm trying to test the Sweave process, to make sure I can build a vignette. I am stuck at the texi2dvi stage, which fails when I try to process the example Sweave-test-1.tex file. I am using Windows binary R distributions, and have the same

Windows problem related to using shortPathName for Sweave style file
In the process of updating R to R 2.7 alpha or R 2.7 beta for the BioConductor 2.2 builds on Windows, I have hit a snag because the BioC build system has long path names (e.g. D:\biocbld\bbs-2.2-bioc\R) and these path names are not resolving properly by MiKTeX 2.7 during vignette construction. Take, for example, the attached vignette from Biobase, Bioconductor.Rnw. I have built R from source

Problem with "R CMD Rd2dvi": Rd.sty not found
Hi, I run into a problem with "R CMD Rd2dvi" command: it gives me "File `Rd.sty' not found" error (See the output message on the bottom). I get the same error when running "RCMD check". My system is: Windows 2000, R version 2.0.1, MiKTeX version 2.4. I do have a Rd.sty file in R_HOME/share/texm directory. I looked through newsgroups for any related discussions

Questions about sweave...
Evening all: I'm taking a little time to experiment with R, Sweave, and Miktex/LaTex but I've run up against some problems and -well- I hope that there are some on the list who might have some suggestions. This will be kind of wordy as I will include the complete files involved as I'm just not sure what I'm looking for. Apologies at the outset. I created the source file

running 'make' failed during vignette creation ('R CMD build') on Windows
Hi, This is a follow-up to the problem reported here: https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2010-September/058460.html After I updated R-2.12 to 2010-09-13 r52905 on the Bioc build system, some of the packages that have a Makefile in <pkg>/inst/doc still don't build on Windows. For example, 'R\bin\R.exe CMD build adSplit' gives: * checking for file

[Hmisc] Latex to pdf
I would like to print some tables and figures to a PDF device on a CentOS 5 vps. However, I cannot seem to get the latex function from Hmisc working. I followed the example, and got an error: sh: xdvi: command not found. I tried installing the 'tetex-xdvi' linux package, and now it returns: Error: Can't open display. I guess the reason for this is that the machine is a VPS terminal, so

latex() hangs R console
[Env: R 2.11.1, Win Xp, Miktex 2.7] I've just started using Hmisc::latex and friends, and find that running latex() produces the .tex and .dvi files, but hangs, presumably trying to run yap. An example is below. What could be wrong? My PATH seems OK: > strsplit(Sys.getenv("path"),';') $path [1] "c:\\program files\\imagemagick-6.4.4-q16"

there are fontencoding problem in Sweave
I want write article by russian language using Sweave. For cyrillic text LaTeX use T2A encoding \usepackage[T2A]{fontenc} But in Sweave.sty we find: \RequirePackage[T1]{fontenc} It is source of critical problem. For example Rnw file $ cat estimation.Rnw \documentclass[A4paper]{article} \usepackage[T2A]{fontenc} \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} \usepackage[russian,english]{babel}

error in building R-1.9.0 sources under Win32
I am trying to compile the R-dev sources on WinXP using mingw 3.1.0-1 and fpTeX 0.7. In the past I have been able to build the sources fine but now I receive an error in the process that I havent seen reported on the list before. Everything works fine until I get to 'make docs'. I now get the message below while building the R-admin manual (refman.pdf builds fine) and the make process
