Too long to open a socket connection
Hello Guys!
I've been doing data aquisition of a pressure measurement system that
communicates using TCP/IP protocol. R's socket connection has been a
blessing for aquiring this data. I've been doing this data aquisition on
Linux (where I do most of the development) and Windows. It works fine on
both systems but there is only a slight problem (not really a problem,
something weird).

Preventing DomU corruption in case of Split-Brain of heartbeat
Hi Xen-Users!
We run an large HA XEN system based on heartbeat2.
Storage base is an infiniband storage cluster exporting iSCSI devices
to the frontend HA XEN Machines. The iSCSI devices are used as pysical
devices
for the domUs using the block-iscsi mechanism (by the way thanks for
this cool script).
Recently we had a split brain in our heartbeat system. This causes both
of our XEN servers to

Multisim 10.0.1 licenses problem
There was a similar topic of mine regarding this, but I think it got lost or forgotten. Anyway, my question is now clearer, I guess.
I'm trying to get Multisim 10.0.1 to work with Wine, already updated to 1.3.7. I first installed it (demo version) on Windows, then copied the entire National Instruments to my /home directory, and installed missing libraries and jet40 from Winetricks. When I

Copied the entire National Instruments folder and tried to run Multisim as demo (I leave the licence problems for later). The first log I got suggested

Multiple xyplots
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping you can give me some pointers. I have a requirement to draw
multiple (103) xy line plots onto one output device. Ideally the plots
should be displayed in a hexagonal grid (example at
www.maladmin.com/example.jpg). I can calculate the locations for each
waveform but am wondering how to create multiple plotting areas. I have
come accross references to a package grid

CreateFile \\\\.\\x: non-root
Hello,
I have a usb data aquisition device interfaced by mass storage protocol. I open it like:
hEcgDrive=CreateFile("\\\\.\\g:",
GENERIC_READ | GENERIC_WRITE,
FILE_SHARE_READ | FILE_SHARE_WRITE,
NULL,
OPEN_EXISTING,
FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NORMAL | FILE_FLAG_NO_BUFFERING |
FILE_FLAG_WRITE_THROUGH | FILE_FLAG_OVERLAPPED,
NULL);
for communication I use

clicking on plot and recording XY coords
Dear all,
I need to run a interactive procedure where the user
will need click on the screen (over a XY plot)
and I need to record the XY coordinate which the
user clicked. Roughly I wrote a short code below.
You see that I suppose that the user will choose
four coordinates inside the region of intersection
between three segmentes. On each click, I would like to
record the position clicked in a

noise gate for asterisk?
Hi list,
I have a client with a strange requirement: putting a noise gate on the
Asterisk channel. For those who are not familiar with them, noise gates
are used in musical instruments to avoid entering low-level noise into the
amp system. What they basically do is, they measure the volume of the
channel, and when it's too low they just let the channel close, i.e send
perfect silence,

Monitor Eaton 93PS UPS
I also operate an HP T1500 G3 which it's an Eaton made UPS. Connected on
usb i get frequent communication errors and data aquisition stopped. Mine
has a serial connection, also. Operating via serial has no trouble. Maybe
it's something related to usb setting in bios, i.e. Legacy mode, speed
setting, etc.
However on serial mode looks like the eaton or hoe power protector software
does not

Samba4: use Posix-ACLs only? (ext4 - NFS4+CIFS - Fileserver)
I try to set up a Samba4-based Fileserver in an Samba3-DC enviroment.
Filesystem is ext4, CIFS + NFS4 should be provided. The same ACLs should
be used over both protocols.
With Samba 3 this was possible (using POSIX 1003.1e DRAFT 17 ACLs only)
. How can I do the same with Samba 4 ?
Posix-ACLs set on the server with setfacl are recogniced on a
windows-client. But every change I do on a

regarding the new tdm?0b cards (another newbie question)
hi everybody and thanks for replying to my previous posts!
i have some questions about the new cards announced on digium's website:
these cards are 1-4 fxs interfaces, meaning i can take 4 analog phone handsets
w/standard rj11's and plug them in to dial via *, right? not until fxo is
implemented (is it going to be? when?) can i plug analog phone lines in? if
the ports are made fxo/fxs

how can PRI, BRI and analog cards achieve a synchronous clock / timing
hello list,
i have a problem regarding the synchronisity (clock source) when using
multiple cards.
e.g. when having connected one PRI port of our TE410P to the telco, i
need to have the analog card like the TDM400P or a B410P synchronous to
the clock of our telco provider. otherwise faxing on the analog cards
does not work or i get cracking noise or even hangups on my BRI lines,
due to bit slips.

TDM analog cards, volume, echo, fxotune, ztmonitor and HPEC
Hi, everyone:
I am developing a system using Asterisk, TDM-400 analog cards, analog
lines, and Polycom SIP phones for internal extensions.
Initially there was bad echo but after a series of efforts, I've managed
to reduce it to a negligible level (it only happens when both parties
speak simultaneously, and even there, only for a few hundred
milliseconds). From an echo standpoint, things are

installation problem on Ubuntu
I was able to install the curl library with no problems. However, when I
tried to install ggplot (install.packages("ggplot2")), I got the same
message as earlier, that R can't load internet.so.
Thanks for your help!

Eicon DIVA PCI ISDN cards (not server) work withasterisk!
Hello Marc,
Could you post the install details for the Diva PCI? I have a Diva Pro
PCI 3.0 and I am looking to get it working... I am running Debian
Testing. So far it appears there are a few things floating around but I
am not certain which direction to go. I know I need to load the firmware
first. I did manage to load the modules ok.
Thanks,
Greg

matrix indexing
Can someone please give me a pointer here.
I have two matrices
matA
A B C
1 5 2 4
2 2 4 3
3 1 2 4
matB
A B C
1 TRUE FALSE TRUE
2 FALSE TRUE TRUE
3 FALSE FALSE FALSE
how do I extract all the values from matA where the coresponding entry
in matB == TRUE (or FALSE), perferably in vector form.
Many thanks
