RODBC, sqlSave and sqlAppend
Hi all,
I am currently trying to read, write and append data between R and MS access
using the RODBC library functions. I have no problems reading in the data
but when using sqlSave and sqlAppend it doesn't seem to work. I have made
sure that all the column names are sensible and there are no gaps etc in the
variables. My call looks like this:
sqlSave(channel,treatlist,test=F)

ks.test one-sample - where can I get a list of the strings specifying the distribution?
Dear all,
One can use ks.test(x,y) for a one-sample kolmogorov-smirnov test:
x being the data sample
y being a string specifying a distribution
I notice the help on ks.test does not tell you how to get such a list. Is
this a hole in my R knowledge?
Where can I get a list of the strings specifying the possible
distributions?
and more specifically
What would be the string and following

test for whether dataset comes from a known MVN
Dear all,
I have a multivariate dataset containing 100,000 or more points.
I want find the p-value for the dataset of points coming from a
particular multivariate normal distribution
With
mean vector u
Covariance matrix s2
So
H0: points ~ MVN( u, s2)
H1: points not ~ MVN( u, s2)
How do I find the p-value in R?
To me this is a likelihood ratio test problem.
In H0 the parameters are

all combinations of the elements of two vectors
Dear R-help readers,
I'm sure this problem has been answered but I can't find the solution.
I have two vectors
v1 <- c("a","b")
v2 <- c(1,2,3)
I want an easy way to produce every possible combination of v1, v2 elements
Ie I want to produce
c("a1","a2","a3", "b1","b2","b3")

Boost library in R package.
Hi R package developers,
I would like to know whether anyone had experience using the C++ Boost
library within an R package, and how portable was the resulting package.
I am especially thinking of possible compiling problems on Windows and
Apple systems.
If anyone had any tips on how to render an R package using Boost
portable, that would be very much appreciated.
Thank you very much for

Files Missing on Client Side; Still available on bricks
Hello,
I am still working at recovering from a few failed OS hard drives on my gluster storage and have been removing, and re-adding bricks quite a bit. I noticed yesterday night that some of the directories are not visible when I access them through the client, but are still on the brick. For example:
Client:

RExcel
Hello-
I am a Graduate Assistant for an instructor who has written programs for
statistics calculations such as binomial distributions and regressions.
The programs had worked with no problem in Excel 2003. Now we are trying to
use it with Excel 2007, and we are having some trouble.
I have downloaded RandFriends and have ran the binomial distribution
process in 2007 Excel and have received an

I used to work with RExcel in excel 2003. Now in 2007, I tried the same

Apply R in Excel through RExcel
ryusuke:
It sounds like you need to have (D)COM server to be able to work on the background. As for the foreground, rcom is what you need and it appears to be working OK. I am out of my office right now but I'll back to work next week and I will be able to explain in more detail how the applications I tied together work with RExcel and R. You can download the latest staconnDCOM.latest.exe from

RExcel - RunRFile Errors
Hi,
I am using RExcel and trying to pass a line of code into R. When I select
the cell and choose "Run Code" from the RExcel menu then it seems to work
fine.
The problem I face is a need to write a macro to do this operation, as I
need to set up a user interface in excel for other users who don't know how
to use R.
In R to run my entire code I simply write on line:

Hi! Help using FitARMA package in RExcel
Hi all :)
Before posting, I used the "search" function to find a solution, but I
wasn't lucky.
I'm using RExcel; I've read several examples which explain how to call in
RExcel an R function via =RApply(...) but I don't understand how may I
include in the function several numeric arguments.
Take this example: I want to use the following R function from

Take an excel sheet having 65000 rows and 11 columns, integer values.
Give the 'context' command 'put R val' for the large enough selection
