how to identify values from a column of a dataframe, and insert them in other data.frame with the corresponding id?
Hello, I’d like to do next, see if you could help me please: I have a csv called “datuak” with a id called “calee_id” and a colunm called “poids”. I have another csv called “datuak2” with the same id called “calee_id”, (although there are “calee_id” that are in “datuak” but not in “datuak2” and inverse), and a column called “kg_totales” in which the values are repeteated for each calee_id

names not inherited in functions
Dear all, I 'd like to keep the names of variables when calling them in a function. An example might help to understand my problem : The following function puts in a new data frame counts and percent of a data.frame called as "tablo" the step " nom.chiffr[1] <- names(vari) " is useless as names from the original data.frame aren't kept in the function environement.

adding perspectives to existing persp plots
I've created a perspective plot using 'persp' in the graphics package. I'd like to add a second plane of z values to the existing plot, but I cannot seem to do this using 'persp'. Is there an analogue to 'lines' or 'points' for perspectives? Corey. corey.bradshaw at cdu.edu.au

Help in Overlaying of 2 Plots on the same Device.
I'm trying to overlay a density plot on a previously plotted histogram. However, i need to use the same axis as of the 1st(histogram) plot to plot the second. My second plot is creating its own axis and causing my plot to extend the entire histogram instead of getting a subplot on a portion of the histogram. I tried 'fig' and 'new' parameters with no luck. Thanks in advance.

Hosting a R Graph Gallery?
Dear R users, Following some of the recent questions and discussions about the R plotting abilities, it occurred to me again that it would be very valuable to have an R graph gallery. Eric Lecoutre made a very nice example in: http://www.stat.ucl.ac.be/ISpersonnel/lecoutre/stats/fichiers/_gallery.pdf It would be very useful to many beginners, but probably also advanced users of R, to have an

the graph gallery strikes back
Hello useRs and helpRs, Some time ago, in a gallaxy far away (here is the thread : http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/46532.html ) we discussed about a graph gallery showing the power of R in that domain. I did some work around that, and there is a (pretty advanced) draft here : http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/displayGallery.php For instance, there are some of my graphs,

www.r-project.org
Dear R users and developpers, My question is adressed to both of you, so I choose R-help to post it. Are there any plans to jazz up the main R website : http://www.r-project.org The look it have now is the same for a long time and kind of sad compared to other statistical package's website. Of course, the comparison is not fair, since companies are paying web designers to draw lollipop

R-etiquette
I'm about to present a report (for internal use of governmental agency). I used extensively R , contibuted packages, as well as communications on the R-list As well as citing R, I would like to know how to cite the contributed packages (it is not so easy, as some have been used exensively, other marginally, some are called from another package and some were not used as softwares but gave me

plot color question
Thanks again Andy and Uwe for you help on my previous post of ploting lm coef and means. With your direction, I was able to expand and generalize the function to meet my requirements. Follow up question: Is it possible to make the points different colors depending on which quaderant they fall into? The data frame contains two variables (x and y) Quad 1 = x>mean(x) & y>mean(y) would

plot.default and open ended limits
Hi, I would like to bound the lower limit of my y scale to zero, and let R chose an upper limit. Something like plot(x,ylim=c(0,)) or plot(x,ylim=c(0,na)) but nither of these do the job. I searched the docs, but I can't see a way to do this. Naturally its nothing I can't do 'by hand', I would just like to know if a correct syntax exists.

contour and filled contour plots
Hello, I'd like to remove color bar from "filled.contour" plot. Is it possible and how? I also want to overlay "contour" plot on filled.contour but due to scaling of the "filled.contour" to account for the color bar, aspect ratio for "contour" is different from "filled.contour". Can this problem be solved? Thanks, Mark

plot smooth density estimates for bivariate data
Hi, there. Suppose I have a bivarariate data matrix y1 and y2. I want to plot a 3-D picture of the estimated density f(y1, y2) against y1 and y2? How can I do that? Do I use persp() or density()?
