Good morning, i'm drawing a barplot (data are stored in a matrix,nrow=3,ncol=10). So i get 10 groups each containing 3 sub-bars. I need to change the range of the y-axis when i plot respectively the first and the other two sub-bars in each group. I can't manage. Could you help me? Thank you. Angela

Good morning, I have to apply the Ks test with the the t distribution. I know I have to write ks.test(data_name,"distribution_name", parameters..) but I don't know what is the name fot t distribution and which parameters to introduce? may be mean=0 and freedom degrees in my case? Thank you for helping me. Angela Re

Good morning, I wrote a little code in R which has to show two graphs but I can get only one. How can I adress the graphs in two files? Second, I'd like, always in the same code, to add a legend to a graph. Better, I'd like to put in such a legend a new item whose color could remind the colour ol the columns it refers to in the plot. a question about "by" and "ddply"
Hi all, I have a data set (df, n=10 for the sake of simplicity here) where I have two continuous variables (age and weight) and I also have a grouping variable (group, with two levels). I want to run correlations for each group separately (kind of similar to "split file" in SPSS). I've been experimenting with different functions, and I was able to do this correctly using ddply

confidential interval of correlation coefficient using bootstrap
I tried 2 methods to estimate C.I. of correlation coefficient of variables x and y: > x <- c(44.4, 45.9, 41.9, 53.3, 44.7, 44.1, 50.7, 45.2, 60.1) > y <- c( 2.6, 3.1, 2.5, 5.0, 3.6, 4.0, 5.2, 2.8, 3.8) #METHOD 1: Pearson's ********************************************************** > cor.test(x, y, method = "pearson", conf.level = 0.95) Pearson's

robust method to obtain a correlation coeff?
Hi, Being a R-newbie I am wondering how to calculate a correlation coefficient (preferably with an associated p-value) for data like: > d[,1] [1] 25.5 25.3 25.1 NA 23.3 21.5 23.8 23.2 24.2 22.7 27.6 24.2 ... > d[,2] [1] 0.0 11.1 0.0 NA 0.0 10.1 10.6 9.5 0.0 57.9 0.0 0.0 ... Apparently corr(d) from the boot-library fails with NAs in the data, also cor.test cannot cope with a

pearson's correlation
Hello, I used the function cor to calculate the pearson correlation coefficient between variables. However, the resulting values do not correspond to the outcome of my excel-calculations, for which I used the formula Cor(x,y)=Cov(x,y)/(SD(x)*SD(y)) So my question is: How does the function "cor" compute the pearson correlation coefficient? Thank you in advance, Ake Nauta

hello, i am a bit of a statistical neophyte and currently trying to make some sense of confidence intervals for correlation coefficients. i am using the cor.test() function. the documentation is quite terse and i am having trouble tieing up the output from this function with stuff that i have read in the literature. so, for example, i make two sequences and calculate the correlation coefficient:

How to create a loop and then extract values from the list generated by cor.test
Dear all, I would like to conduct a Pearson's correlation using cor.test separately for each individual in my data set. Each individual has nine observations of the measurement variable 'Delta13C'. I can figure our how to do it manually one 'Individual_ID' at a time, but I cannot figure out how to automate the process (a loop I am guessing). In addition, I would like to
