ALTREP: Bug reports
Hello,
I have encountered two bugs when using ALTREP APIs.
1. STDVEC_DATAPTR
>From RInternal.h file it has a comment:
/* ALTREP support */
> void *(STDVEC_DATAPTR)(SEXP x);
However, this comment might not be true, the easiest way to verify it is to
define a C++ function:
void C_testFunc(SEXP a)
> {
> STDVEC_DATAPTR(a);

and call it in R via

ALTREP: Bug reports
Hello Luke and Gabriel,
Thank you very much for your quick responses. The explanation of STDVEC is
very helpful and I appreciate it! For the wrapper, I have a few new
questions.
1. Like Luke said a mutable object is not possible. However, I noticed that
there is one extra argument *deep* in the function duplicate. I've googled
all the available documentation for ALTREP but I did not find

ALTREP: Bug reports
Hi Jiefei,
Thanks for tryingout the ALTREP stuff and letting us know how it is going.
That said I don't think either of these are bugs, per se, but rather a
misunderstanding of the API. Details inline.

inverse gaussian distribution of frailty variable
Hello,
I'm Emanuela, I'm implemented a survival analysis and I'm trying to use a frailty model with inverse gaussian distribution, but I'm not able to find the right code, because it seems to be only a gamma and a gaussian distribution. Is there also the inverse gaussian distribution?
Thanks a lot

Mode in case of discrete or categorial data
Thanking John for his suggestion I build this function
which get the mode of both categorial and discrete
data.
Mode<-function(x){t<-table(x)
if (is.numeric(x)) as.numeric(names(t)[t == max(t)])
else (names(t)[t == max(t)])
}
Any other improvement and suggestion will welcome.
Best

How to interpret these results from a simple gamma-frailty model
Dear R users,
I'm trying to fit a gamma-frailty model on a simulated dataset, with 6 covariates, and I'm running into some results I do not understand. I constructed an example from my simulation code, where I fit a coxph model without frailty (M1) and with frailty (M2) on a number of data samples with a varying degree of heterogeneity (I'm running R 2.3.1, running takes ~1 min).

Quintum D3000
Please has anyone on this list had experience with getting Quintum
equipment to talk to Asterisk? Specifically a D3000 in my case.
It is refusing to register and I'm out of ideas.
Any help appreciated.

Age as time-scale in a cox model-How to calculate x-time risk?
Dear R users,
My question is more methodology related rather than specific to R usage. Using time on study as time in a cox model, eg:
library(Design)
stanf.cph1=cph(Surv(time, status) ~ t5+id+age, data=stanford2, surv=T)
#In this case the 1000-day survival probability would be:
stanf.surv1=survest(stanf.cph1, times=1000)
#Age in this case is a covariate.
#I now want to compare the above

Age as time-scale in a cox model
You asked about survival curves with age scale versus follow-up scale.

packaging: src.rpm not a rpm
Hi all,
I have installed the recommended installs from here:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/RebuildSRPM
I want to build a "ipfm" RPM on a CentOS 6.2, for legacy purpose.
I cant immediately get rid of that piece of software, but we're on the
move...
So:
$ wget
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/3/srodzaj/2/search/ipfm-0.11.5-alt1.src.rpm
$ rpm -i --nomd5

Save the Quintum before I throw it out a window....
Well the subject line probably says it all.
I have a Quintum D3000 which I'm supposed to be getting connected up to
our Asterisk system.
No matter what I try, neither username or authuser config works. I've
also tried md5auth and it still refuses to register.
Any one have a config they could share with me?
Any help would be much appreciated.

How to use mle or similar with integrate?

I have the following formula (I hope it is clear - if no, I can try to
do better the next time)
h(x, a, b) =
integral(0 to pi/2)

integral(D/sin(alpha) to Inf)
(
(
f(x, a, b)
)
dx
)
dalpha

and I want to do an mle with it.
I know how to use mle() and I also know about integrate(). My problem is
to give the parameter values a and b to the

Postfix/Amavisd/Clamd - Mail send failing

With help from you all I am now at better stage. Special thanks to Robert.
Atleast I am able to run all the required services (postfix, amavisd, clamd
etc).
I sent a mail from my gmail, I received at my newly setup domain/mailbox.
I am facing issue while sending the mail outside.
