Hey, Is there any function plotting several "implicit functions" (F(x,y)=0) on the same fig. Is there anyone who has an example code of how to do this? The contour3d function in the misc3d package only work with the functions with three dimensions. Thanks a lot. Many thanks for your help. KnifeBoot [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

plot the implicit function
Is there anybody willing to help me with the method of plot. please show me the command lines to plot the implicit function "x^4+y^3=x^2+y" and "x=(sin[t])^3 y=(cos[t])^3 t :[0,2*pi] " I can learn how to plot implicit functions from your command lines. Thanks a lot KnifeBoot [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Volcano Plot
Hi I am using the ggplot2 package for the volcano plot and I am using the following code for the same: g = ggplot(data=data, aes(x=data[11], y=-log10(data[12]), colour=threshold)) + + geom_point(alpha=0.4, size=1.75) + + opts(legend.position = "none") + + xlim(c(-10, 10)) + ylim(c(0, 15)) + + xlab("log2 fold change") + ylab("-log10 p-value") data[11] is a

ggplot: problem with fill option in stat_smooth()
Hi all, I am using ggplot2 and continuing to find it very useful and pretty. However, I am trying to create some graphics for publication that would be included in an MS Word document (not my choice!) in Windows Vista. The problem is that I want to use stat_smooth() to add an fitted linear model line along with its 95% confidence band, but I cannot seem to get the confidence band in a format

A question regarding volcano plot
Hello all, I was trying to make a volcano plot with some real data, using log2(ratio) vs. Z-value significance. However the scatter of the points is too less contrary to 'normal' volcano plots and I'm getting a sharp 'V' shaped plot. *Am I doing something wrong here?* The data(ratio) is available from pastebin: http://pastebin.com/m2Jss3qF data <-

Graphics - plotting two graphs
Hi, I wanted to plot 2 lines on a single graph. Each graph has one axis that can be common. The code that I'm using is: ------------------------------------------------------- par(mfrow=c(1, 1)) x1 <- c(2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12) x2 <- c(10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60) y1 <- c(10,12,15,22,34,21) y2 <- c(40, 130, 150, 145, 40, 30) par(las=1, mar=c(4, 4, 2, 4)) plot.new()

volcano plot.r
Hello. My name is Akashah. i work at metabolic laboratory. From my study, i found that volcano plot can help a lot in my section.  i already studied about the volcano plot and get the coding to run in R software, unfortunately, there is may be something wrong with the coding. This is because  no graph appear, but no error (blue color text) was shown on the R console. Below is the coding for

Background fill and border for a legend in dotplot
Dear R help group I've been working on this plot for a while now and now getting around to the minor adjusments. I would like to be able to put a border and background fill around the legend in this plot. I understand the legend 'bty' should do this have this capablity but not sure how the syntax works in this case ###### initalise library("lattice")

Using abline in lattice
Dear all, being a relative beginner in R, I apologize for posting the second question within two days. So I want a stacked barchart, which should look like the one produced by this code: Tuvalu <- c(9,3,4,0,3,0,0) Singapor <- c(38,0,0,0,12,19,0) Samoa <- c(26,16,2,0,5,2,0) PNG <- c(56,4,0,5,2,0,56) Micronesia <- c(6,0,0,0,0,0,0) graph4 <-

is there any option like cex.axis in ggplot2?
Dear list,   I made boxplots using ggplot and want to control for x- and yaxis. Using "plot" I can do it by setting cex.axis equally to any size but can't figure out how to do it with ggplot.     ggplot(dat, aes(x = factor(time), y = volume)) + opts(axis.title.x=theme_text(size=8),axis.title.y=theme_text(size=8)) + geom_boxplot() + geom_jitter(aes(colour = id))+labs(x =

how to add 95% confidential interval as vertical lines to x axe in density plot
Dear R-help listers, I want to add 95% confidential interval as vertical lines to x axe in density plot. I have found the library(hdrcde) can do this work, but I do not know how to handle functions of this library when I used ggplot2 to draw the graph. Thank you in advance. The data and codes followed: # dummy data factor<-rep(c("Alice","Jone","Mike"),each=100)

Tried with packages circular and plotrix and couldn't quite get what I want. Moved to package ggplot2 and it's going great. However stuck in how to move axis labels. I am using the wind rose from the help to learn how to do what I need (code

how to fill the area under the density line with semitransparent colors
Dear R-listers, I have created a plot to display the density lines for the same variable by different entities. Now, I want to fill the area under the density lines with semitransparent colors. Though I have checked that in web-searching and book-reading, I still do not perform that. Could anyone please give me any helps or advice? Thank you in advance. Finding Instances of a Pattern Throughout Data Set
I have approximately 2.5 million rows from a number of sensor readings. Having plotted these, I can see a given pattern (say a spike in the amplitude away from the mean). I would now like to automate this procedure as we're expecting a great deal more data in the near future. Is there any package or function that will make this possible? Many thanks! I suppose, I could do something like:
