Hotplug of disk devices in LXC failed with libvirt of version 1.0.2
Hi Daniel, I noticed that the patch "Add support for hotplug/unplug of disk devices in LXC" you wrote had been merged into libvirt of version 1.0.2. But when I used this function, it report an error with details as following: ubuntu@lxc:~$ vir attach-device instance-0000002c disk.xml --config error: Failed to attach device from disk.xml error: Unable to create device

Avoid dropped packets
I´m shaping with htb with a kernel 2.4.25 compiled with PSCHED_CPU. What i´m noticing (in mrtg) is that traffic coming in to eth0 (internet side) is much bigger than eth1(Lan side). I think this is due to packets being dropped right? In this case, is there any way to avoid this? because right now traffic coming from the router is being wasted right? This is the output of tc: tc -s class show

Trouble retrieving the second largest value from each row of a data.frame
I have a data frame with a couple million lines and want to retrieve the largest and second largest values in each row, along with the label of the column these values are in. For example row 1 strongest=-11072 secondstrongest=-11707 strongestantenna=value120 secondstrongantenna=value60 Below is the code I am using and a truncated data.frame. Retrieving the largest value was easy, but I have

mgcv::gam error message for predict.gam
Sometimes, for specific models, I get this error from predict.gam in library mgcv: Error in complete.cases(object) : negative length vectors are not allowed Here's an example: model.calibrate <- gam(meansalesw ~ s(tscore,bs="cs",k=4), data=toplot, weights=weight, gam.method="perf.magic") > test <- predict(model.calibrate, newdata) Error in

The vanished files problem is really REALLY annoying... It renders rsync unusable for me: sent 22972933 bytes received 2399590976 bytes 310684.69 bytes/sec total size is 98068497125 speedup is 40.48 client_run2 waiting on 18377 _exit_cleanup(code=24, file=main.c, line=1385): entered rsync warning: some files vanished before they could be transferred (code 24) at main.c(1385)

need palette of topographic colors similar to topo.colors ()
I will second Roger's suggestion, colorRampPalette is a great function for creating your own palettes. For example, Matlab's jet palette (also available in fields package under peculiar name 'tim.colors') can be defined by: jet.colors = colorRampPalette(c("#00007F", "blue", "#007FFF", "cyan", "#7FFF7F", "yellow",

Simple Question: adding points to a boxplot
I apologize in advance for the simplicity of this question. I use R 2-3 times a year, and I seem to forget more in the intervening months than I learn during my days of panicked reading.... I HAVE tried looking at the help resources; I'm just not very good at understanding them. I have a dataframe with 18 observations of 5 different things, and a second dataframe with and estimate for those

need palette of topographic colors similar to topo.colors()
Dear useRs, I got stuck trying to generate a palette of topographic colors that would satisfy these two requirements: - the pallete must be 'anchored' at 0 (just like on a map), with light blue/lawn green corresponding to data values close to 0 (dark blue to light blue for negative values, green-yellow-brown for positive values) - the brown must get darker for higher positive

Creating a vm with a non-existent /dev/mapper/ tap2 device effectively hangs dom0 system
Have an interesting one here, originally found on xen 4.1.0 but just upgraded to xen 4.1.1 and it''s still here. Creating a VM with a tap2 device pointed at /dev/mapper/something, when that device doesn''t exist, causes the tapdisk2 process to go into D mode and also manages to take out any process that queries it. For example, I have /dev/mapper/nathanxenuk1 as a valid disk

Bogus shutdown
Nut shut down a machine last night when there was no power outage. When I came in this morning, the UPS was turned off, but it turned on cleanly and passed its self-test. The battery was at 62% when I first checked it, and it's up to 63% now, about 20 minutes later. The UPS is a Tripp-Lite AVR550U. I'm running nut version 2.0.3. I expect to be told to update to a newer version and to

messaging problems
I'm having trouble sending messages to my Win2000 and XP clients. Everything worked with Samba 2.2.2, and now with Samba 3.0 (CVS) it fails. Below are two trails, the first works (sending to the Samba server) and the second fails. (Also, how do I get rid of the upcase.dat, lowcase.dat, and valid.dat errors?) Thanks!! -Paul penguin# echo "TEST" | smbclient -M penguin incorrect size
