"predict"-fuction for metaMDS (vegan)
Dear r-Community, Step1: I would like to calculate a NMDS (package vegan, function metaMDS) with species data. Step2: Then I want to plot environmental variables over it, using function envfit. The Problem: One of these environmental variables is cos(EXPOSURE). But for flat releves there is no exposure. The value is missing and I can't call it 0 as 0 stands for east and west. Therefore I

totally confused, samba flipflop fuctionality
It's working from the linux box and not the xp then it's not Yes I try making corrections and this probably accounts for the confusion and broken samba communication. I just never seem to be able to come up with a working working configuration. Exception: smbclient; I can mount the XP share in a directory on my Linux box or at least the last time I checked. I have to turn off the

Help Regarding 'integrate'
I have an R function defined as: f<-function(x){ return(dchisq(x,9,77)*((13.5/x)^5)*exp(-13.5/x)) } Numerically integrating this function, I observed a couple of things: A) Integrating the function f over the entire positive real line gives an error: > integrate(f,0,Inf) Error in integrate(f, 0, Inf) : the integral is probably divergent B) Increasing the interval of integration

integrate() and complex values
[apologies for possible multiple post] Hi The manpage for integrate() does not mention imaginary numbers. I found the following unexpected: > integrate(function(x){0*x+1+1i},0,1) 1 with absolute error < 1.1e-14 > (I would expect 1+1i here) One can write a little wrapper, but it's not straightforward. Would it be hard to accommodate such functions in integrate()? Some other
