Storing results in a single file after looping over all files
Hi All, I have a whole lot of *.raw files in my working folder and I am doing the same analysis on each of those and want to save all the results in a single file. I am making some mistake here and can't figure out how to solve it. Say, the *.raw files are ABCD.raw, EFGH.raw, IJKL.raw ... The files are of this format ID PHI?? aa1? aa2? aa3 .... 1??? 1???? 1.3?? 2.0?? 1.0 2??? 0????

Question about Case Insensitivity
Hi, I am trying to make a Linux filesystem appear case-insensitive and I got the idea that I could use a SAMBA loopback mount to do this. I almost succeeded on my first try but I ran into a snag I have no answer for yet. My setup involves sharing filesystem "/a" and then mounting it on "/b". I can use "ls -l" on the "/b" filesystem in a case-insensitive

Decoding subscripts/superscripts from CSVs
Hi, I have a CSV file with various biological reactions. Subscripts, superscripts, and italics are encoded in carats, and I was wondering if R can actually recognize those and print actual superscripts, etc. Here's an example: <i>S</i>-adenosyl-L-methionine + rRNA = <i>S</i>-adenosyl-L-homocysteine + rRNA containing

mergeing a large number of large .csvs
Dear R help; I'm currently trying to combine a large number (about 30 x 30) of large .csvs together (each at least 10000 records). They are organized by plots, hence 30 X 30, with each group of csvs in a folder which corresponds to the plot. The unmerged csvs all have the same number of columns (5). The fifth column has a different name for each csv. The number of rows is different. The

Obviously I could do this longhand but I know it is somehow possible to write a loop to do the same thing... I'd like to group such that the first group is the first 564 rows, the second group is the second 564 rows ..... the 999th group is the

fixed effects constant in mcmcsamp
I'm fitting a GLMM to some questionnaire data. The structure is J individuals, nested within I areas, all of whom answer the same K (ordinal) questions. The model I'm using is based on so-called continuation ratios, so that it can be fitted using the lme4 package. The lmer function fits the model just fine, but using mcmcsamp to judge the variability of the parameter estimates produces

RFH: loopback & blktap(2) and CDROM
Hello, I''m currently trying to understand some problems I had in the past with mixing look-back with blktap(2) for HV and PV domains. I''m stuck reading the source code, so I''d like to get some help from the list. Interrupt me if I got something fundamentally wrong in my understanding so far: 1. With pure-HV the domU gets an emulated IDE (or whatever) disk. The

List of Data Frames
I'm trying to create a list of Data Frames. ?I have 17 data frames that I need to move through in a loop, but if I simply make a list of them, then they do not stay data frames, and I can't sort through them. ?I tried to create an array, but the data frames can have anywhere from 14-16 rows, and I couldn't find a way to make a variable size array. ?If you have any ideas, I would

Warning regarding AMD Athalon 64 4200+(HVM/AMD-V)
Hello to all, For those evaluating the AMD X2 4200+ series for the purposes of running HVM guests, take a note below before purchasing if the server you are purchasing happens to be made by HP. There is an oddball version (apparently OEM sold to HP) which does *not* support AMD-V technology. I''ve seen many of these on e-bay as well as for sale / lease by popular co-location facilities.

kriging shapefiles
Hi! Im new to R and I need to interpolate a shapefile using kriging. I've been able to plot/read the shapefile using the package maptools or rgdal. I've searched the internet for sample codes but most of the kriging codes that I've found done in R is done using txtfiles or CSVs.  An example could be of great help. Thanks. Leer archivos con read.csv
Hola.
