how to return multipy matrix in a function
Hello I have a 100*100 matrix which is from a intensive computation, e.g. mat. Is there any method/function that return the max of every row and the subscript of maximum value simultaneously #define the function > returnfunction<-function(x){ + value<-apply(x,1,max) + index<-apply(x,1,which.max) + } > mat<-matrix(c(3,5,7,2,1,10,4,3,2),3)#initilize the matrix for test >

Calling R functions with multiple arguments from C
Hi, I'm writing a C function that has to call a R function with multiple arguments. I've read the relevant section in Writing R Extensions, and searched the R site, mailing lists as well as rseek. I managed to call the function, but I'm now having trouble creating the argument list. I tried to create a pairlist of the arguments and send it to the R function. The R function however

os x crash using rpanel and tcltk (PR#10495)
Hello, I've recently discovered a persistent issue with rpanel when running R.app (2.6.1) on Mac OS X 10.4.11. tcltk and rpanel load without any apparent error, and the interactive panels appear to work as expected, however upon closing the panels rpanel has created I get catastrophic errors and R crashes completely. For the most part R manages to crash with dignity and work can be saved, but

Error msg in rpanel
I am working on the r panel package. Now if i have a function that uses a radiogroup button, and if i attempt to run the function from inside the rpanel menu, i get this error: Error in panel$intname : $ operator is invalid for atomic vectors However if i run the function per se i.e. not from inside the rpanel menu, but by calling it independently, the above error doesn't appear. rpanel / list error
Hi All, I have created a simulation that works perfect and I have the results been returned in a list as I have multiple values. I then decided to include some user interaction by using the package rpanel, I now get the error: object of type 'builtin' is not subsettable when I attempted to have the return my list with the results . Any help needed. I can also upload code if needs be.

rpanel rp.tkrplot: x&y when using layout
Hi all, I wish to use rp.tkrplot from the rpanel package with subplots produced by layout or split.screen. My problem is that I want to use a click function, but I can't work out how to convert the x and y values it produces into the values on the plots as unlike for a single plot they don't match. For example in the following code the (0,0) and (1,1) corners of the bottom left plot

The rpanel package
The rpanel package builds on the tcltk package to provide simple interactive controls for R functions, in particular to provide simple forms of dynamic graphics. The intention is to make this form of control particularly easy for R users to implement, with full documentation. The necessary tcltk variables are managed behind the scenes so that users need not be concerned with any

Building GUI for custom R application
HI R users, I would appreciate information/examples/suggestions on building GUIs for R applications. I am currently working on a project that would require the following functionalities : 1) Display a window to the user. Provide a function to scan local drive and choose dataset file. 2) Display the column names for the user to choose the dependent variable and the independent variables. 3) Fit

problem running a function
Dear people, I'm trying to do some analysis of a data using the models by Royle & Donazio in their fantastic book, particular the following function: http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/pubanalysis/roylebook/panel4pt1.fn that applied to my data and in the console is as follows: > `desman.y` <- structure(c(3L,4L,3L,2L,1L), .Names = c("1", "2", "3",

function optimization
Dear all, this is my first time, and just begin to use R. But I've a question about optimization using optimx library. It could sound stupid by I'm a bit affraid with the problem, because anything I try, anything Error. The procedure was: optimx(par="10,71,1",fn=(Prey*Provisioning)/Risk, control=list("maximize)) well the problem lies in the initial value parameters, again

MCMC glmm
Hi to all the people, I'm working with abundance data of some species, but containing too zero values, and the factors are the ones typical in a BACI experiment (Before-and-After-Control-Impact). Thus, these are two fixed factors. As the data does not holds the normality and homogeneity of variances assumptions of clasiccal ANOVA, I'm trying to fit a zero-altered model using the MCMC glmm

iterative regressions, adding a new line of data each time
Hi, I am pretty new to R. I'm trying run a regression repeatedly, adding a new data point each time, and then storing the predicted Y values. For example, let's say I have 500 data points and I run the regression. I would then like to store the Y value, run the regression again using 501 data points, store the new Y, run the regression with 502 data points, store the Y, and so on. What I

Interactive plots with R
Hi, I wrote some simple rpanel package script for visual spectral data comparison. At this example i have a three samples and i want to zoom through x and y axis to compare differences between samples. With my script below I can zoom to some data region and add some other spetra to the plot, through text input field. But I can't figure out, how to change axis scaling for all displayed

graphics: 3D regression plane
Hello Masters, wishing you all a great 2011 I was also going to ask if anyone knows a quick and efficient way to plot a regression plane (z~x*y). I have tried the regr2.plot{HH} function but it is only an educational tool and has poor graphical properties. I also tried to run the following script on a fictitious longitudinal problem, with poor results set.seed(1234)

Own R function doubt

The work goes as follows, Ciervos<-function(K1, K0, A, R,M,Pi,Hembras) {B<-(K1-K0)/A T1<-(R*Pi*Hembras-M*Pi+B)/(Pi-M*Pi+R*Pi*Hembras) P1<-Pi-B R1<-P1*Hembras*R M1<-P1*M T2<-(R1-M1+B)/(P1-M1+R1) P2<-P1-B R2<-P2*Hembras*R M2<-P2*M

Hi to all the people (again), I'm doing some simulations with the memisc package of an own function, but I've the problem that I didn't know how to read the result of such simulations. My function is: > Torre<-function(a1,N1,a2,N2) + {Etorre<-(a1*N1)/(1+a1*N1) + Efuera<-(a2*N2)/(1+a2*N2) + if(Etorre>Efuera)Subir=TRUE + if (Etorre<Efuera)Subir=FALSE +
