Add text A, B, C and D on multiple ordered plot
Dear list, Is there a elegant way to name multiple ordered plot as A, B, C and D? Just put A, B, C and D on the top left corner of each plot. Usually I do it in Illustrator, but I think in R should there is a way. Could you please provide a example? Thank you very much in advance.

Simple example for High performance computing with R?
Dear list, I want to run two independent calculation (A, B) and then combined their results to do a plot in R. Before I just run calculation A first, then calculation B. It will take some times. I just have one server with multiple core. I noticed that there are some nice package in R for parallel calculation, such as parallel, multicore and snow. Also there is a book, O?Reilly ? ?Parallel R,

bugged mount with Synology as client.
Hi, I have some weird issue I don't know how to tackle. When I share a folder from a Unix (Linux) machine using a current version of Samba (smbd) and I mount it on an older Synology (2.6.32) the reading of files goes fine. However all files I create get the chacacters #EF80AF affixed to the filename, which is a Unicode code point for private extensions, or something of the kind.

The Talking Moose
Anyone here remember the old Talking Moose desktop toy from the 80's? For the unitiated, the Talking Moose was a simple applet on old Mac computers that periodically displayed an animated Bullwinkle-lookalike moose in the corner of the screen, spouting witty phrases or biting insults, as well as commenting on various activities like opening and closing programs or inserting disks. ftable as latex (with Hmisc?)
Dear List, possibly called Frank, I tried to create an ftable lookalike of the following data set in LaTeX/Sweave with summary(formula,..), but I could not get it to work for count tables; numeric tables work fine. summary(formula,...,fun="table") does not give the full cross breakdown. Other suggestions welcome. Note that in the output there should be empty fields on repeated

[EXTERNAL] Re: Help with Tripp Lite Internet600U
If I installed and tested against Ubuntu, how useful would that be in general and in this specific case? I think we've seen a few reports of issues with the newer 3024 protocols and I'd like to help get them sorted out. kate and W3C timed text

Gameplay asks for the second CD
Wing Commnader Prophecy (multiple CD's) install doesn't give any problem (due to its small pop-up format window) and the game plays well until I come to the next CD. Game grabs full screen 800x600 svga. Pop-up window for second CD appears, but I can not switch with <Alt><Tab> to desktop. What did I already try? Read lots of items on this forum :D

[EXTERNAL] Re: Help with Tripp Lite Internet600U
I'm running Raspbian Buster, but given that the error seems to be "higher order" than a hardware issue - one of parsing the protocol?  I suspect that Ubuntu would be a decent "lookalike" to model the issue.  ---- On Tue, 19 May 2020 22:31:56 -0400 David Zomaya <David_Zomaya at tripplite.com> wrote ---- If I installed and tested against Ubuntu, how useful would

Set CALLERID(num) to a specific number only if ${CALLERID(num)} is not an NANP number
Im trying to figure out the base way to check the callerID being sent to my Asterisk box and use it if it is a valid NANP number, but replace it with a static NANP number if it is not. (Why? I have a few carriers that require this, and a few international users - if it happens to take one of the carriers that require it, I want it to set a static number that is valid). I'm playing
