Proc Mixed to R
Hi All, I'm working with some SAS code to analyze an experiment set up as follows: 66 subjects (colonies) treated with a random treatment (1-8) and measured at three time points. The data structure looks like: input colony tmt y1 y2 y3; y=y1; date=*1*; output; y=y2; date=*2*; output; y=y3; date=*3*; output; datalines; 1

Mixed model question
Hi, I am new to this list as a poster, but a reader for some time. I've using R for several weeks now, and I have a lot of questions about certain procedures. Here I go: I want to test if there are differences in the time spent by pollinators visiting flowers of a given plant species, according to a number of experimental manipulations made on those flowers. All experimental

Repeated measures
Dear R-gurus, I am pretty much new on R. I am trying to to do a repeated analysis of a linear mixed model with R, and I consistently fail... The problem is: Cow is the random factor, treatment is the fixed factor. The dependent variable is milk yield, which is measured several times (repeatedly over time), thus there is another variable which is time (i.e. week). The model would be

LSmeans and lsmeans
A cursory reading indicates that they are identical; but others more knowledgeable than I need to confirm or deny this. -- Bert Bert Gunter "The trouble with having an open mind is that people keep coming along and sticking things into it." -- Opus (aka Berkeley Breathed in his "Bloom County" comic strip ) On Tue, Feb 13, 2018 at 3:38 PM, Pius Mwansa <pmwansa at

Multiple comparisons when interacction]
Hello, I send the message again with the data file as txt because it seems not to be accepted as csv in the R-help list. Data comes from a multiyear field experiment in which 4 levels of a treatment (2, 3, 4, 6) are compared to see the effect on yield. It is a randomized complete block design. The SAS code follows: options ls=95; data uno; infile 'data.txt'

how to get "lsmeans"?
Dear all, I search the mail list about this topic and learn that no simple way is available to get "lsmeans" in R as in SAS. Dr.John Fox and Dr.Frank E Harrell have given very useful information about "lsmeans" topic. Dr. Frank E Harrell suggests not to think about lsmeans, just to think about what predicted values wanted and to use the predict

R-analogue to the estimate and lsmeans statements in SAS
Dear all, In connection with a stats course where we want to use R, I am trying to find out if there are analogues to the ESTIMATE and LSMEANS ("population" means) statements in SAS (in proc glm, proc genmod and proc mixed). The students are agronomists, vets and that sort of people, and most of them have some familiarity with SAS. The design package seems to go some of the way, but

Mixed Modeling in lme4
Hi All, I am trying to shift from running mixed models in SAS using PROC MIXED to using lme4 package in R. In trying to match the coefficients of R output to that of SAS output, I came across this problem. The dataset I am using is this one: http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/statug/63033/HTML/default/viewer.htm#statug_mixed_sect034.htm If I run the following code: proc mixed data=rc

Possible bug(s) causing ggplot2 and XLConnect to crash recent builds of r-devel
The following R code causes R to crashes under recent r-devel builds of R: library(ggplot2) RCBD.lay <- data.frame(Blocks = factor(rep(1:5, each = 6)), Units = factor(rep(1:6, times = 5)), Treatments = factor(rep(1:6, times = 5))) ggplot(data = RCBD.lay, aes(x = Units, y = Blocks, label = Treatments)) + geom_text(aes(colour = Treatments)) I

conversion from SAS

Imputing missing values using "LSmeans" (i.e., population marginal means) - advice in R?
Hi folks, I have a dataset that consists of counts over a ~30 year period at multiple (>200) sites. Only one count is conducted at each site in each year; however, not all sites are surveyed in all years. I need to impute the missing values because I need an estimate of the total population size (i.e., sum of counts across all sites) in each year as input to another model. >

lsmeans in R
I need help with calculating lsmeans (adjusted means) of different terms in a linear model including the main effect and the interaction effect terms. I use lm to run the linear models...I previously noted from literature that that "effects" package can be used to generate lsmeans. But I tried to use it but could not figure out which option to use to get means. If anyone can give an

Converting SAS Code
You might get better answers if you 1 - break this down into separate issues 2 - tell us what you want to achieve in words rather than SAS, we all read English but few of us speak SAS 3 - post in plain text not HTML as HTML mangles your post On 29/09/2017 13:47, Andrew Harmon wrote: > Hello all, > > My statistical analysis training up until this point has been entirely done > in

Help with graphics in gamm4 library
My problem is relatively straight forward, but I cannot seem to find a way to make it work. I have a RCBD with repeated measurements over time. I have created a fit using the gamm4 package. My model is: fit4a <- gamm4(Rate ~ s(Time,by=trt,bs="cr")+trt,data=qual.11.dat, random=~(1|block),correlation=corARH1()) What I would like to create is plots with the X-axis

means comparison in R (post-hoc test)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi. I have been using SAS for some time, and now I have discovered R. I am very happy with it, but I have not found out how to perform some of the multiple comparisons I was used to do in SAS. With the SAS/STAT, I generally used the MEANS (for comparison of arithmetic means) and the LSMEANS (for adjusted means) statements of the GLM procedure (I

Converting SAS Code
For the initial data step, assuming a data frame named stress already exists, and using base R, you can start with something like this: barcodes.to.delete <- c('16187DD4015', '16187DD6002', {complete the comma-delimited vector of barcodes you don't want} ) yield <- subset(stress, !(barcode %in% barcodes.to.delete) ) yield <- subset(yield , !(field %in%
