Tick marks that correspond with bars on barplot
Hello all,
I have created a barplot that shows change in hardwood/softwood density from 1965 to 2005 in 5 year periods (1965,1970, etc). I would like to have an X-axis where the labels for the years line up after every two bars in the plot (there is one bar for hardwood, and another for softwood). Below is my script:
density<-read.table("F:\\Megan\\Vtest.csv", header=TRUE,

error statement: missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed
Hi list,
I want to try Gibbs sampling as a method of estimating a markov-switching
model of a mean-deviating, pth-order autoregressive process with time
varying transition probabilities via R and am using a code originally
written by another person; I attach the useful pdf document explaining the
code. When I run the code, I get an error message:

javascript float array in params hash
Hi all
I''m trying to figure out the best way to send the contents of a
javascript array containing floats to the controller and have the
controller correctly interpret it as an array of floats.
So if I have
var points = [1,2,3,4,5,6]
I need to send this to the controller so I can
points_rb = param[:points]
or something similar
thanks

RODBC to query an Oracle table
Hello all,
I am having trouble running a count function in R using RODBC to query a table I created in Oracle. It may very well be that my SQL coding is incorrect; I just started learning it. But if someone could point me in the right direction or tell me if I am going about this the correct way that would be greatly appreciated! The script I have right now is:

CPU model and missing AES-NI extension
Hi,
today I tried to configure a guest using Virt-Manager and used the "copy
host cpu configuration" option which resultet in a "Sandy Bridge" model.
What I noticed is that for example the "aes" extension is not available
in the guest even though it is available on the host cpu.
This is what the host cpu looks like:

optimising a loop
Dear R community,
I'm trying to remove a loop from my code but I'm stock and I can't find a good way to do it. Hopefully one of you will have something clever to propose.
Here is a simplified example:
I have a squared matrix:

using and testing %a
Greetings.
Is there a quick and easy way to find out what the %a substitution string
returns for a given computer? We were having some problems that I though
might be due to it, and I'd like to know how to find out if it is the
problem. I tried putting it in the server string, but looking at it in
network neighborhood always gives me "UNKNOWN". The computers I tried

Zlib maildir reindex bug?
Hi
Running dovecot 2.1.7 (from debian repo).
We have some old compressed maildir messages with the wrong S= size in the filename (our fault).
If I delete index files, log in to the mailbox and try to FETCH the bad message, dovecot complains about the incorrect message size, attempts to fix the filename and disconnects the client. However, it changes the filesize to the size of the message on
