Different goodness of fit tests leads to contradictory conclusions
I am trying to test goodness of fit for my legalistic regression using several options as shown below. Hosmer-Lemeshow test (whose function I borrowed from a previous post), Hosmer–le Cessie omnibus lack of fit test (also borrowed from a previous post), Pearson chi-square test, and deviance test. All the tests, except the deviance tests, produced p-values well above 0.05. Would anyone please

Hosmer- Lemeshow test
Dear R - help,
I am working on the Credit scorecard model. I am using the Logistic regression to arrive at the regression coefficients model.
I want to use the Hosmer - Lemeshow test .
In order to understand the use of R - language, I had referred the following URL
http://www.stat.sc.edu/~hitchcock/diseaseoutbreakRexample704.txt
The related data 'diseaseoutbreak' is available

Hosmer-Lemeshow 'goodness of fit'
I'm trying to do a Hosmer-Lemeshow 'goodness of fit' test on my logistic
regression model.
I found some code here:
http://sas-and-r.blogspot.com/2010/09/example-87-hosmer-and-lemeshow-goodness.html
The R code is above is a little complicated for me but I'm having trouble
with my answer:
Hosmer-Lemeshow: p=0.6163585
le Cessie and Houwelingen test (Design library): p=0.2843620

two kind of Hosmer and Lemeshow’s test
I know that there are two method to apply the Hosmer and Lemeshow?s. One of
them is calculated based on the fixed and pre-determined cut-off points of
the estimated probability of success. One of them is calculated based on
the percentiles of estimated probabilities.
In the previous post,i find that the Hosmer and Lemeshow?s test how to use
in R.

Hosmer Lemeshow test
Hi to everybody. I use the following routine (i found it in the internet)
to compute the Hosmer-Lemeshow test in the framework of logistic regression.
hosmerlemeshow = function(obj, g=10) {
# first, check to see if we fed in the right kind of object
stopifnot(family(obj)$family=="binomial" && family(obj)$link=="logit")
y = obj$model[[1]]

Histogram with two groups on the same graph (not on separate panels)
I have been trying to produce a histogram that has two groups (male and female
snakes) on the same graph (either superimposed or each frequency bar appears
side by side). I found a couple of functions for superimposed histogram written
by other people.
The below is the codes I used for my data containing a column of svl (body size;
snout-vent length) and another column of sex (male or female).

Logistic regression
I have a data set to be analyzed using to binary logistic regression. The
data set is iin grouped form. My question is: how I can compute
Hosmer-Lemeshow test and measures like sensitivity and specificity? Any
suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Lost DC with FSMO-Rolls

Hello,
I lost my DC with all fsmo-roles. I try to "seize" the roles to
another DC. It worked four out of five roles:

Transfer unsuccessful, seizing...

nls() and loop
Hello I?m need fitt growth curve with data length-age. I want to evaluate
which is the function that best predicts my data, to do so I compare the
Akaikes of different models. I'm now need to evaluate if changing the
initial values changes the parameters and which do not allow to estimate
the model.
To do this I use the function nls(); and I randomize the initial values
(real positive number).

mount_smbfs and samba 2.2.0
I know 5.1 isn't considered part of -stable, but it doesn't really seem like -current either, so I'm asking here. If this is the wrong place please let me know where I should be.
At work I have a 5.1-R box that I'm trying to use to mount shares from a Sun box running samba 2.2.0 as well as some Win2K boxes. Both the sun and win2k machines authenticate to the company's domain

Hello,
I migrated a samba3 with openLDAP to Samba 4 (sernet package 4.13). I
can see all migrated users on all DCs and fileservers with "wbinfo -u"

"getent passwd <username>" and "wbinfo -i <username>".
Now, after migration, if I

Changing labels positions in two graphics
Hi,
I?ve got some problems with the labels of the x-axis
I,ve got two factors with two categories each: sex (males and females) and
area (central and peninsulae),
but because of the lenngth in the graphic just appeared two of the four
labels.
I thought the solution could be rotate it 45? degrees, I have read it can be
done with "srt" or "rotate", but I don?t know hoe to use

kernel vhost demands an interrupt from guest when the ring is full in order to enable guest to submit new packets to the queue
Folks,
We came across a memory race condition between VPP vhost driver and the kernel vhost. VPP is running a tap interface over vhost backend. In this case, VPP is acting as the vhost driver mode and the kernel vhost is acting as the vhost device mode.
In the kernel vhost?s TX traffic direction which is VPP?s RX traffic direction, kernel vhost is the producer and VPP is the consumer. Kernel

winbindd: local unix users vs. NTdomain users ........
Hi!
I use Samba 2.2.2 on Linux Red Hat 7.1.
My Samba server is NT domain member (security = domain),
and I use winbindd.
I detect some strange situation, as I look. See below.
For example, my NT domain is MYDOMAIN (PDC implemented
on NT4), and this domain have user myuser (MYDOMAIN+myuser
as see him Samba&Winbindd).
Linux, which run Samba&winbindd, have local user myuser too.

Megatec driver FR: repeat shutdown
Hello.
In continuation to
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2007-June/002880.html
Inelt Monolith II 1000 (don't know about LT) actually requires
sending shutdown command twice, with delay of 5 to 8 seconds,
according to my experiments.
The attached patch enables the megatec driver to repeat shutdown
command with configurable delay (cmdrepeat, in milliseconds).
