Dear All, I'm trying to compile R for Windows 64 bit. OpenSSH 7.4 p1 still can't be build without patch on Solaris 10
Hi, OpenSSH 7.4 p1 still can't be build without patch on Solaris 10 (attached). Pls, may be possible to add conditional compilation/configuration to avoid manual actions before build? May be, in portable version? Otherwise seems OpenSSH stops be portable on all platforms. Thank you, WBR, Yuri. -- What is the fundamental difference between the programmer and by a fag? Building R on Windows: mkdir of Rtools creates directories with read-only permissions [WEIRD]
This is is an issue that bugged me for a while. I encountered a year ago (April 2012) when I first tried to build R from source on Windows. I never figured out what the solution is or if I'm doing something wrong myself (but I have found a tedious workaround). I'm still on the same Windows 7 Ultimate machine with NTFS, but I now made sure I started from scratch so I have a completely

FWD: [patch] scp + UTF-8
Hi, Martijn sent the following patch to me in private and agreed that i post it here. In any other program in OpenBSD base, i'd probably agree with the basic approach. Regarding OpenSSH, however, i worry whether wcwidth(3) can be used. While wcwidth(3) is POSIX, it is not ISO C. Does OpenSSH target platforms that don't provide wcwidth(3)? If so, do you think the problem can be solved

Problems with building R from sources
Hello all, I'm trying to build R 32bit from source in a Windows 64 machine. I have followed the steps in "R Installation and Adiministration" ( http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-admin.html#Getting-the-source-files) or at least I think I did everything described. I am not sure if I have installed the libjpeg, libtiff and libpng files though. I have upzipped them in the

Using system() to dump HDF to text file?
Hi all -- I am working on 64-bit Windows XP. I'm not a very technical person when it comes to the command line stuff, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. I have a bunch of HDF files, and I want to dump a single PM25 data layer from each file to .txt by invoking ncdump.exe from system(). Here's a sample command string: "C:/ncdump -v PM25 C:/01aug2010.hdf >

Different behavior of the "showArgs" example (R extension manual) between gcc and Visual C++ compiled code
Hi, I am trying to implement on a Win7 box the showArgs example of section 5.10.2 "Calling .External" of the R extension manual. I am using interchangeably gcc (RTools) and Visual C++ (via Makefile.win) to build a package. I get a couple of runtime oddities when the dll compiled with Visual C++. I'd value comments, observations and tips from interested readers. I tried my best to
