plane3d
I am attempting to fit a logistic regression plane to a 3-D scatterplot
(which was generated using scatterplot3d). I've noticed that the help
pages of scatterplot3d include a function titled "plane3d." However,
when I attempt to use the function, I get the following message:
Error: couldn't find function "plane3d"

scatterplot3d bug??
Hey guys,
Not sure if I encountered a bug with the scatterplot3d function.
Here's the calls I made:
s3d1 <- scatterplot3d(TotLogDisttenp,TotDifftenp,TotMeasuredRSLtenp,pch=16,highlight.3d=TRUE,angle=40,type="h",main="MRSL
~ LogDist + Diff");
s3d1$plane3d(fitols);

map points from scatterplot3d onto 2d fitted plane
Dear R helpers,
I have a 3D scatter plot that I have generated from scatterplot3d (which
looks great- thanks!) and I can see that the points in my graph fall in a
plane.
Following the example 5 from 3D scatter plot (below) I have fitted a
regression plane.
Now what I would like to do is a rotation so that my new co-ordinate system
is about the fitted plane (by finding the normal to the plane

Adding plane in a 3D scatterplot
I have drawn a 3D scatter plot :
library(mnormt)
library(scatterplot3d)
dat = cbind(rmnorm(3, rep(0,2), diag(2)), 1:3)
scatterplot3d(dat)
Now I want to do 2 things :
1 : In the Z-axis (i.e. height), I want to see only numbers 1,2,3, etc NOT, 1,1.5,2,2.5.............
2. I want to add two Horizontal planes at hight z=2 and z=3. Those two planes should look like "bottom" of that 3D plot

4D stacked column chart, Excel -> R
Hi All.
I'd like to programm a 4 dimensional chart in R.
Acctually I wanted to solve that problem in Excel cause I had the data there.
Here is a link of my actual problem description (there are some chart pictures as well)....
http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=187336&highlight=stacked+column
because I still couldn't solve that problem I came to R.
The chart should be

persp(): add second plane (second, long question)
Thank you for your replies so far.
Sorry for bothering you again, but I'm still not able to get what I need as
I don't understand all parts of the replies (just using R for easy
things....).
Is there a code for plane3d() like some of you sent me for points3d()? I was
not able to get that out of the scatterplot3d package...
What I can do is to get the x,y and z-range for the xlim,ylim and

drawing a specific "plane" with scatterplot3d
Dear All,
using the example from the package scatterplot3d I created a 3d plot as follows:
x <-rnorm(500,50,2)
y <-rnorm(500,5,1)
z <-rnorm(500,6,1)
scatterplot3d(x, y, z, highlight.3d=TRUE, col.axis="blue",col.grid="lightblue", main="scatterplot3d - 1", pch=20)
I would like to ask if anyone could help me with the following:
1. I would like to draw a

rgl movimiento

Redundancy canonical analysis plot problem in 3D using VEGAN
Hi Guys,
First, English is not my native language so sorry if the question is
too difficult to understand. I can rephrase it if necessary.
I have 32-bit Windows Xp SP3, i use R version 2.12.0 (2010-10-15),

the question is about Redundancy canonical analysis? plot problem in

question on rgl.surface
I'd like to use rgl.surface (or some other function if more
appropriate) to create a horizontal and vertical transparent grey
slice (plane) running through both the x and y origins and extending
across the z axis, i.e. the 3-d equivalent of the normal 2-d
coordinate axes we are all familiar with. The examples for rgl.surface
are a bit more complex than what I need and I am having trouble

Help with rgl
Hi,
I don't know much about the RGL package, and I have read the
documentation and tried some parameters, with no luck... I would like
to generate a movie from a 3D object (code below), where the vortex A
is closer to the observer, and then the object rotates and the B
vortex gets closer. I would like to capture this movie to a file.
By the way, I am not being able to insert unicode text

rgl: cylinder3d() with elliptical cross-section
For a paper dealing with generalized ellipsoids, I want to illustrate in
3D an ellipsoid that is unbounded
in one dimension, having the shape of an infinite cylinder along, say,
z, but whose cross-section in (x,y)
is an ellipse, say, given by the 2x2 matrix cov(x,y).
I've looked at rgl:::cylinder3d, but don't see any way to make it
accomplish this. Does anyone have
any ideas?
thx,

Redundancy canonical analysis plot problem in 3D using VEGAN, RGL, SCATTERPLOT3D and SFSMISC
We need to keep the discussion on the list. When I run your code, there are several problems.
strain.data <- read.xlsx("Dee rhiz.xlsx", sheetName ="strain", header = T, row.names = 1)
str(strain.data) # lists 9 columns at the end with all NAs
strain.data1 <- (strain.data, sqrt.dist = TRUE) # this is not a valid R line. I get

biplot package
Dears,
I've been learning biplot (Gabriel, 1971) and I found the function 'biplot', inside of the package 'stats',
useful but, a bit limited.
So, I'm thinking to start a colaborative package to enhance this methods to other multivariate methods. In this
way, I would like to start it, making public a new function (biplot.pca, still in development, but running)
that make

Scatterplot3d :: Rotating x tick labels by x degrees
Hi Alex,
this should be related to the "las" argument of "par()" but
actually it does not seem to be parametered in scatterplot3d.
Searching the net for "scatterplot3d las" provides a link to:
