setting up the SQLite database
I know this isn''t Python, but I''d like to get a view on the ''one obvious'' way to set up an SQLite (or other) database and its location per-app. I''ve got a bit lost with the Camping 2 changes and various code snippets I have kicking around. 1. is it best to set up the DB creation/connection: 1.1 at the end of the app

OT - Tomcat CLASSPATH issue
if this is ignored then fair enough as its not really the place for it but if anyone has seen this it would be good to know tomcat is 6.0.18 CLASSPATH is set in /etc/sysconfig/<appname> and this IS getting used as _some_ configuration items are being picked up from /etc/<appname> but the issue is when default setting from within the webapp are not being overwritten by settings in

Overriding date_select in local project to use custom value rather than blank for starting option...
I would like to have a date control on a page and I would like a behavior similar to what you get using date_select with the :include_blank => true option where the first value in the dropdown is "- Month -", "- Day -", or "- Year -" rather than a blank value for the respective month, day, and year select fields. I took a look at the ruby source for

Called id for nil, which would mistakenly be 4 -- if you really wanted the id of nil, use object_id
Hey all, I know that this: Called id for nil, which would mistakenly be 4 -- if you really wanted the id of nil, use object_id means that I have an instance variable that has not been initialized. However, I''m a little confused as to what to do in a signup form for form_for: <% content_for :login do %> <% form_for @user, :url => { :action => "login" } do

Form helpers and overloaded methods - help!
Can someone explain why form helpers appear to bypass any model methods I override for fields that are bound to database fields? It would be great if someone could tell me how to force the form field, etc to call the method instead of looking at the database / attributes collection. Let''s say I have a column called ''price'' in my database table "books"

[PATCH 1/2] nv50/ir: fix s32 x s32 -> high s32 multiply logic
Retrieving the high 32 bits of a signed multiply is rather annoying. It appears that the simplest way to do this is to compute the absolute value of the arguments, and perform a u32 x u32 -> u64 operation. If the arguments' signs differ, then negate the result. Since there is no u64 support in the cvt instruction, we have the perform the 2's complement negation "by hand".

domain vs. app name relationship?
Could someone please explain the relationship, if any, between the RoR application directory / name (generated by ''rails appname'') and the internet domain name it will be hosted under? If my web site is www.mydomain.com, does my RoR appname need to be ''mydomain''? Thanks, Bill -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
