package installation from source
Dear all I noticed from NEWS 2.11.0,dev SIGNIFICANT USER-VISIBLE CHANGES o Packages must have been installed under R 2.10.0 or later, as the current help system is the only one now supported. So I tried to follow instructions in manual, Duncan Murdoch presentation and help pages to prepare and accomplish installation of a set of functions I use. However in R 2.11.0dev and too in

post_processor in rmarkdown not working
That is strange. Another function in the same package (INBOmd::inbo_rapport) uses the same trick. I actually started by copying the post_processor() from that function. INBOmd::inbo_rapport() works both with and without BibTex. Working examples are source/inbo_rapport and source/inbo_rapport_basic from https://github.com/inbo/inbomd_examples. Note that you need some extra work after installing

rgl update: please test!
(This is bcc'd to a list of people who have had problems with rgl lately or who are known to be big users; not cc'd, so you don't all get cc'd all the responses on the R-devel list). I've just put together a test build of rgl, and put it on my web site as http://www.stats.uwo.ca/faculty/murdoch/software/rgl_0.70.564.tar.gz (source) and

post_processor in rmarkdown not working
Dear Duncan, Thanks for chiming in. Could you explain how you set debug() on post_processor()? I've tried adding debug(post_processor) to rsos_article() or adding debug(post_processor) when after post_processor was defined in the debugger. Neither work for me. All supporting files are available within the package. The code below should be reproducible on your machine.

Re: Problems with rgl package
I also downloaded the rgl package (after reading recent Uwe Ligges' post) and installed in on my Win2k Pro sp2 machine. It seems to work with no problems. I ran most of the examples, including the hist3d one, and all of them worked fine. A couple of thoughts. I have administrative priviliges on my machine. Could this possible make a difference. The rgl library uses OpenGL. Is it a

[Fwd: Re: pt inaccurate when x is close to 0 (PR#9945)]
Here's a contribution from Ian Smith that got bounced from the list. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [Rd] pt inaccurate when x is close to 0 (PR#9945) Date: Thu, 11 Oct 2007 06:02:43 -0400 From: iandjmsmith at aol.com To: murdoch at stats.uwo.ca Duncan, I tried sending the rest of this to R-devel but it was rejected as spam, hence the personal e-mail. Merging Ogg streams whilst updating the Skeleton?
Hi All I'm currently trying to put together an ogg file with two theora streams, a handful of audio streams (probably mixed vorbis and opus), and a Skeleton stream that describes their relationships to each other. I had hoped to be able to use the oggz suite of tools, but I can't seem to get that to work. To generate my theora files, I'm using ffmpeg2theora, which will happily

Ogg index and Skeleton 4.0
Hi everybody, I've updated OggIndex to now output Skeleton 4.0 tracks. The differences between Skeleton 3.x and Skeleton 4.0 with OggIndex is: * The fisbone packet now includes a "Radix" field. * The fisbone packet now includes two new compulsory message headers; "Role" and "Name". * The fishead packet no longer includes "start time"

Skeleton output support in speexenc
Hi, I just added skeleton meta data output support in speexenc. The option is disabled by default and can be enabled using -k or --skeleton. I'm using a very simple skeleton API for handling skeleton packet generation which is contained in skeleton.h & skeleton.c. Please check the patch and whether xine/mplayer/quicktime and other players support the skeleton enabled speex file. At the

Re: R-devel Digest, Vol 3, Issue 23
I am another person who has had trouble documenting S4 classes and (particularly) methods. The methods package itself is pretty cool by the way, but it is a pity that there are as yet no guidelines on S4 in the "Writing R Extensions" document. I have actually put together a guide on S4 documentation myself for the use of my own lab which is at
