Adding text labels to lattice plots with multiple panels
Hi,
I am trying to add text to the bottom of a lattice bwplot with
multiple panels. I would like to add a label below each boxplot, but
the labels do not come from the data. I've tried the following, code:

Lattice: splom plots for different factors with correlation in lower.panel
Hello list,
I am looking to create a figure for my dataset using splom, where there is a
splom subplot for each level of a factor within, for example, a 2x2 layout.
For each subplot, I wish to put the r-value between each variable pair in
the lower panel. The code I have thus far is below, using the iris dataset
so that it is reproducible. This almost does what I want, but for some

Labels in xy-plots
Hi,
I am new to R. How can I get labels/different colours on the lines in my
xy-plots. I plot "het" against "temp" conditional on "year" and "station".

Help with panel.text in Lattice - Putting labels for co-oridnates in a plot
Hi,
I am trying to create a Lattice dotplot that has the following data graphed.
I need to put labels for each of the co-oridnates on the plot. I have
managed to get only one label dispalyed as I don't completely understand the
"panel.text" function. Can someone please help me?

pairs: altering pch options on upper and lower panel of pairwise scatter plots
Hello,
I can't figure out how to use the upper.panel and lower.panel options in
pairs to alter the label options for either panel independently of the
other.
I would like to be able to show the pairwise scatter plots for the data
as they are (a vanilla pairs plot?) but separately to be able to label
the points according to a factor level. It is easy enough to do this

specifying group plots using panel.groups
Hi,
I am trying to plot two types of data on the same graph: points and
distributions. I am attempting to use the panel.groups function, but cannot
seem to get it to work. I have a melted data set and put in a FLAG column to
separate my data into the two groups that I would like to plot, point data
(FLAG=0) and the distribution(FLAG=1). Here is the code i am using in R:

lattice: drawing strips for single-panel plots
The strip argument to panel.xyplot seems to be ignored for single-panel
plots. Here is an example:
data(Chem97, package = "mlmRev")

The figure is printed with no strip. The strip.default documentation
suggests that Deepayan intended this behavior.

eliminating panel borders from lattice plots
I am trying to eliminate panel borders from my
lattice plots. By default, they always print. For
example:

panel.abline() and trellis.focus() on multipage plots
Hi,
I'm recently working on a multipage bwplot() using the lattice package. In
this context I was trying to use the panel.abline() function individually on
certain panels but not all. After some research I found the trellis.focus()
and trellis.unfocus() functions which enabled me to do something like:

paired wilcox test on each row of a large dataframe

I have to calculate V statistic for each row of a large dataframe (28000). I
can not use multtest package for paired wilcox test. I have been using for
loop which are. Is there a way to speed the computation with another method
like using apply or tapply?

Panel Bar plots
Hello All,
I have been trying to use the par(mfrow(c(m,n)) function to produce a
panel of m rows and n columns of bar plots. The different columns were
to designate n different categories, as the m rows are to designate
different categories as well. However, I cannot seem to get rid of the

lattice: placing y-axis labels on right-hand side of panel when relation="sliced"

I'm using lattice to create a multi-panel figure. I would like
to draw each panel's y-axis ticks and labels on the right-hand
side of the panel. Ordinarily, I would do this by specifying
scales=list(y=list(draw=T, alternating=2)). But in this case, I am
using relation="sliced" to determine the y-axis limits. So
"alternating" is ignored. Is there any

Pulling my hair out here trying to get something very simple to work.
Have a data frame of 774 rows and want to plot first and second half
on same axes with different colours. A variable is present call 'row'
created like this and checked to be OK:

Lattice: Setting Conditioning Panel Order in Trellis Plots
I've looked in Deepayan Sarkar's book without finding how to specify the
order of conditioning panels in a trellis plot. Here's the issue I'm trying
to resolve:
Sampling locations along a stream channel are not sequentially numbered.

I have a 3x2 plot and in addition to the title of the individual plots I
would like to have an overall title
