Rdconv --type=Ssgm drops singleton keywords (PR#9051)
If an Rd file has only one keyword entry then
the Splus sgm file made with Rdconv --type=SSgm
has no keyword entries.
To reproduce:
Use prompt() to make a skeleton help file
R> f<-function(x)log(1+x)-log1p(x)
R> prompt(f)
Created file named 'f.Rd'.
Edit the file and move it to the appropriate directory.
R> q()
It has 2 \keyword entries in it

R CMD check failure on minimal code
I have a peculiar problem that I'm sure is a simple one, but I can't figure
out what my mistake is. Can someone enlighten me? I have a simple file,
class.R:
##
setClass("abc",representation(a = "character", b = "ANY"))
I have a package directory ExpressCGH1 made with package.skeleton. The
package happily builds and installs, but R CMD check fails with

adding a function after package.skeleton()
Dear R helpers,
I've successfully created a package 'constants' using package.skeleton
() with one dataframe and a few functions. However, now that I want
to add some functions and data to the package, I run into a problem.
I ran prompt(...) and moved + edited the resulting .Rd files as
appropriate (I believe). The log file from RCMD check constants does
indicate a few

documenting s4 methods in package
Hi,
I have written a package that contains many s4 generic functions and
associated methods. I am having a lot of trouble getting R to build the help
pages for these generic functions without reporting, "missing link(s):
~~fun~~, which means that it cannot find the appropriate function when code
in the example section of the help is run. Right?
After some playing around I can get it to

promptFunctions() to handle multiple names
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512
Hi all,
I wanted to set up my first (private) R-package and wondered
if there was a function to prompt() for multiple aliases in one Rd-file,
e.g. to create something like the normal distribution manual page
encompassing rnorm, dnorm,...
As I didn't find it, I modified prompt.default() and wrote a small function
to do this job, called

generic function argument list problem
Hi
it says in R-exts that
A method must have all the arguments of the generic,
including ... if the generic does.
A method must have arguments in exactly the same order as the
generic.
A method should use the same defaults as the generic.
So, how come the arguments for rep() are (x, times, ...) and the
arguments
for rep.default() are (x, times, length.out, each, ...) ?

documenting methods for S4 objects
I put out an email last night with output from my package check. Many
thanks to Uwe and Liviu who got back to me quickly about how to fix some of
the errors. I realize though, that I had some additional questions /
confusion points in terms of documenting packages.
1) I seem to understand how to document a straightforward function, but am
having trouble figuring out how to document methods

[R] documenting s4 methods in package
There are usually two directories involved in an install: the source
directory and the install directory in R_HOME/library.
The INSTALL procedure builds the package (usually in place in Windows,
I'm not sure if that's the case in Unix) and installs it into the
install directory by copying those files necessary to use it. REMOVE
removes the install directory, cleaning up

Package Documentation, cryptic
Hi, sorry for this lengthy post.
I am using R-2.0.0 on Unix, compiled.
Overview:
A) R CMD check: Unaccounted top-level text
B) In which sections of *.Rd is LaTeX notation allowed, where *not*?
C) Codoc mismatches and polyvalent parameters
D) Successful R CMD INSTALL and R CMD build
E) cp ../Rd.sty . is copy necessary?
F) latex ./CWHstat-manual.tex runs into trouble

areaplot
I would like to propose adding a new plot function to the 'graphics'
package. The new function is called areaplot() and I have implemented it
as a generic function that supports a variety of data classes.
An area plot consists of a simple line, like plot(x, y, type="l"), except
the area between 0 and the line is a filled polygon. Areas can be stacked
on top of each other,

R package checking error.
Dear useRs,
I am trying to build my package (nonpareff) which deals with some models of
data envelopment analysis.
The building worked well, but checking complains when it tests examples.
Zipped nonparaeff.Rcheck is attached.
Following is the log.

More strange R CMD build/check errors on Windows
Hi,
This is a follow up to:
https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2010-July/057921.html
The Bioconductor daily builds have been reporting a lot of strange
things lately on Windows using R-2.12. This started 2 or 3 months
ago and things are not getting better with recent R-2.12.
Here is a sample from today's build results. We use Windows Server
2003 R2 for the 32-bit builds, Windows

Puzzling message: "no man files in this package"
Dear R developers,
When building/checking my package (in R 2.6.1 under windows) I run into
some messages that I do not completely understand and that do not give
me precise enough leads to pinpoint where the error in my package is. I
would be very grateful for any suggestions. Did anyone else encounter
the same problem before?
When building or installing the package, I get the message (no error

Building package problem
Dear R-users
I am trying to recompile a CRAN package on Windows 32. Rtools for 2.14 (that is the version I am running) and miktex were sucessfully installed on my machine.

cygwing warming when creating a package in windows
Dear All,
I am a beginner creating R packages. I followed the Leisch (2009) tutorial
and the document ?Writing R Extensions? to write an example.
I installed R 2.12.2 (I also tried R2.13.2), the last version of Rtools and
the recommended packages in a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium.
I can run R CMD INSTALL linmod in the command prompt and the R CMD check
linmod. The following outputs are

R 3.2.4 rc issue
I generally run 'make; make check' (with more settings) when building the
Debian package. Running 3.2.4 rc from last night, I see a lot of package
loading issues during 'make check'. Here is splines as one examples:
checking package 'splines'
* using log directory '/build/r-base-3.2.3.20160303/tests/splines.Rcheck'
* using R version 3.2.4 RC (2016-03-02 r70270)

What is so slow here? The render takes up 8% and the queries take up
